Elite: Elite. This game can easily win the "most retarded game title on Kickstarter" award.
Why not Elite: Deadly if they decided to try too hard to appeal to Elite fantards?

Thousand times what you've said, exactly. It's so fucking sad. I can't brofist this post, probably because I amApparently this piece of shit will have multiplayer. Hence small zones that you hyperspace in and out of, no time acceleration, and probably an X-like speed limit of 160m/s to avoid confusing fucktards.
Once again I wish there was a way to donate to KS to have the same amount taken from the project, and have the money just burned in a furnace instead.
I want an Elite with Orbiter-level physics
The main problem here is that Braben's studio did crap all the time.
While Ian Bell's studio went on to do properly awesome GTR series together with SimBin. And is now doing a promising Project CARS.
And this game got no Ian Bell.
Kinecktimals. Oh shit
David Braben designed and coded Frontier all by himself in a fucking assembler for Amiga processor, while Ian Bell criticized it for having too much simulation.
He is a gaming hero, there is no denying that. I am sure, he could make an amazing follower to Frontier and First Encounter, if he only wanted.
The problem is, he either doesn't care anymore, or compromised his ideas in the face of criticism regarding simulation being tedious.
It'll probably have Freespace like flight model ( there is inertia so you can call it Newtonian – derp ). Probably most of spacesimsarcade shooters fans wants exactly that.
Another issue is that his company is quiet big and he is in need to sustain his business, hence he shot for more mass appeal.
It can be better than Star Citizen, because of spending less resources on detailed cockpits and interiors of space stations you can visit in person.
There is no reason for it not to be the best Elite clone ever. It has already developed, the richest and the least derpy universe in the genre.
I would throw my yearly video game budget at a proper Frontier kickstarter, but this one... it's a confirmation that my dream game won't happen
I can eventually get it on sale, when in mood for some epic popamole space action, if it'll be good for what it will be.
It's odd that he compete with Chris Roberts for the same market at the same time. Wing Commander and Frontier potential audiences overlaps only partially.
Had he aimed for proper Frontier successor, his game and Star Citizen combined could grab bigger market. Cannibalizing each other can end badly for one of them.
I predict Star Citizen will be released earlier and will have more focus on graphics and immershun. Most gamers will wait a year or two before getting another fix, if at all...
i stopped reading at "multiplayer".
then i tried to continue, i went on and i read "multiplayer" again in the next sentence.
then i stopped reading once and for all.
and i played frontier for 7 years straight.
I loved the richness of the galaxy, but with the benefit of hindsight I think the way the ships flew detracted from the joyous immediacy of those in “Elite”.

Is there a 1.13 equivalent for X3 by now (I mean a megamod with everything)? Is this it? I haven't played a game of this type in a long time, and X3 was rather disappointing when it came out. How much better does it get with mods?I've spent quite a few hours having fun in X3 with mods, but the combat doesn't hold a candle against IW2's. That said, IW2's combat, flight dynamics( no sectors!), equipment stuff and mission-design and X3's open-world economy/gameplay would be a match made in heaven.
How much better does it get with mods?
Is this mainly because all the mods are doing the wrong things, or more because it's completely impossible to fix the worst things about the game with mods? My main complaint was the usual "ok, so we made an engine, basic features are in, now let's release the game" design philosophy where the game is missing the actual game part, which in theory could be at least somewhat "fixed" by content-related mods. But I haven't really played it enough to analyze properly. Still on the fence on whether to reinstall or not.x3 is fundamentally broken. mods can expand the game, and they do, but can't and won't fix it.
