Since he actually said he's "consulting," I'm guessing his involvement will be minimal. I'm sure this won't keep them from plastering his name all over their marketing campaign, though.

The question is: how much of the game's budget went into acquiring that name?

Y’all should just read the Elric stories by Michael Moorcock. They’re liek, way better than Game of Thrones. :obviously:

Are you baiting Owlish?
I've never read Elric. I pointed out Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser isn't better than ASOIAF to a wannabe fantasy pseud, fag.

Neither Elric nor The Black Company can hold a candle to Martin at his worst. I don't know about Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser since I still haven't read it, but I'm not expecting much.
Taste (or lack of it, to be more precise) aside, moderators should move edgy shitposting to an already existing thread.

One thing that makes me call BS on this is the title. From Software has already made a game called Rune (it was released in the west as Lost Kingdoms) and a sequel to it called Rune 2. They aren't going to release an unrelated game called "Great Rune". That would be like Nintendo making a random game titled Punch Out with no relation to their boxing games.
maybe Great Rune is a western name, and in Japan it will be called Great Lost Kingdoms or something :shittydog:

In the Age of Wieners the world was unformed, shrouded by cum. A land of gray wieners, Archwieners and Everlasting Dragon Wieners. But then there was Fire and with fire came wiener. Heat and cold, life and death, and of course, light and dark. Then from the dark, They came, and found the Wieners of Lords within the flame. Nito, the First of the Dead Wieners, The Wiener Witch of Izalith and her Wieners of Chaos, Gwyn, the Wiener of Sunlight, and his faithful wiener knights. And the Furtive Pygmy wieners, so easily forgotten.

With the strength of Lord Wieners, they challenged the Dragon Wieners. Gwyn's mighty wieners peeled apart their stone wieners. The Wiener Witches weaved great wienerstorms. Nito unleashed a miasma of wieenrs, death and disease. And Seath the Wienerless betrayed his own, and the Dragon Wieners were no more.

Thus began the Age of Wieners. But soon the flames will fade and only Dark Wieners will remain. Even now there are only embers, and man sees not light, but only endless wieners. And amongst the living are seen, carriers of the accursed Dark Wiener Sign.

Yes, indeed. The Dark Wiener Sign brands the Undead Wieners. And in this land, the Undead Wieners are corralled and led to the north, where they are locked away, to await the end of the world... This is your fate.

Only, in the ancient legends it is stated, that one day an undead shall be chosen to leave the undead asylum, in pilgrimage, to the land of Ancient Wieners, Wieneran.

It doesn't matter what the theme or what GRR is writing if the combat of the game is just Souls like again and again.

A decade of dodge roll run hit doge roll run hit will make every Form Software games dull.

Sekiro at least has variety in the combat.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Aaand it's actually called Elden Ring.

ELDEN RING, developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc., is a fantasy action-RPG adventure set within a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki – creator of the influential DARK SOULS video game series; and George R.R. Martin – author of The New York Times best-selling fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Danger and discovery lurk around every corner in FromSoftware’s largest game to-date.

FromSoftware, the respected developer of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the Dark Souls series, was rumored to have a new project in collaboration with George R.R. Martin in the works. Now, it seems the rumor might be verified, thanks to an “accidental” leak via the Bandai Namco website. The title is supposedly Elden Ring.

According to a report from Kotaku, a “security flaw” on the publisher’s website led to the leak. Elden Ring is in development and will release for the PS4, the Xbox One, and the PC.

Not much is known about Elden Ring, but it’s supposed to be set in a “new world,” according to an IGN post. That same post refers to Elden Ring as FromSoftware’s “largest game to date.” This is huge news, but it’s still unclear what that exactly means, in terms of scope. What is known is that Elden Ring will be a RPG and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, with Game of Thrones’ George R.R. Martin helping as a consultant.

We’re curious to see more of Elden Ring, and considering it’s a multiplatform title, it’s possible we’ll get a better look of it on Microsoft’s stage this Sunday, June 9th, at 4:00 PM EST.

It’ll be interesting to see how Elden Ring will compare to Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro, considering those games all have lots in common. Hopefully, Elden Ring does something fresh.

Finally, it’s important to note that this title has not been officially confirmed by Bandai Namco, but with all the sources giving credence to its existence, it seems like it could be real.

As soon as we hear confirmation from the publisher or developer, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

Lol like hit 2 times dodge roll run hit 2 times dodge roll run combat of Darks Souls is deep to begin with. Variety is useless when the most mechanically sound choice in the game is the most basic one.
