It's hard not to mistake it for an over-the-top parody of sexual deviants, on the level of Gayniggers from Outer Space

What exactly is it about Cullen that everyone loves so much?

In all the streams they have Cullen fan boys/Fan girls screaming for him. All I can remember of him was that (before the retcon) he was a weak willed Templar in the circle tower who made a pass at your female mage. Now he is talked up as being one of the most amazingly best characters in the games.

While I agree, part of the problem is BioWare does a lot of novels/comics now and they never explain them in the games they release. This is why DA3 and ME3 made/make even less sense to people who aren't consuming all of the related media. I mean, c'mon, ME3 doesn't even happen chronological to ME2, there's a whole chunk of set up just missing for most players.

As far as I know, Cullen has had a few appearances in the novels, though I've never read them.

I have been following this forum for years. My first rpg was Buck Rogers...

Forgive me because I have sinned. I have preordered this game. I have been trying to cancel it, but it seems like it is impossible to get my money back.

Bioware is really on some weird fucking pill, that makes even Sweden look normal.

I am sorry for having bought this game. On the positive side, I bought Divinity: Original Sin to four people to spread something like rpg civilization.'

Bioware seem now only to cater to.... Special people... Who like to ride the bull.

Just let it die.

For the record I liked Origin, and that is when I found and lurked at this site.

He looks slightly less homeless than all the others?

I had completely forgotten that guy was even in DAO and I could barely remember that he was in DA2(It never dawned on me while playing that he was supposed to be a character from the previous game). I think a lot of his fandom(like a lot of things BW) is driven by headcanon/LARP than what's actually in the games.

Just wondering how anyone could "ride the bull".

The size of that creature makes me think anyone who did so would be torn in half.

I can't believe I even had to write that, much less think it. BioWare actually went there.
Maybe he simply has a small dick. Unless they show a full frontal in the game, we'll never know.

But you can see their strategy is working, everyone is talking about the romances, even the supposed haters. ;)

it seems newcomers dont have problem with DAI.

also sending leliana to redcliff castle looks like a bad decision....

Oooh, maybe they have some nice evil choices in the game, after all... I might give it a try once I can get some free time.

According to Weekes (he knows about the leak, I read it on his twitter), it only seems dumb cause it's without context. Now, I respect Weekes as a talented writer, but I can't see he this is gonna look any different no matter what...
I can't think of any kind of context where that would seem less like a bad Fabio novel. Maybe it's the female PC's erotic fantasy when they were dreaming and drunk - but I doubt it, not that that would improve it either.

Role-playing games have long received praise for their inclusivity, particularly those made by BioWare, the studio behind Inquisition. Its games allow you to choose your race, gender, and often your sexuality and romantic partners.

Now you faggits know what is RPG and Commissar knows why people from western Jewrope travel to join the IS.:terrorist:

Australian immigration officials after brief chat with Laidlaw become suspicious as to whether he really can design games:

"...a customs officer asked him to prove his bona fides by identifying his favourite game of all time. After a brief moment of consideration, Laidlaw went with Star Control II. The official considered this to be a credible selection, which is fortunate, because it’s a long flight back to Canada"

Good thing he didn't go with "DA2" or it would have taken hours to get him out of federal custody...

I have only one true thing i don't like about DA:I and maybe one of the aspects of the Bioware policy. It's is too agressive LGBT propaganda in DA:I, i have nothing against gays or lesbians , they are people like us, should have same rights and dignity.
But as heterosexual i don't speak about my preferences non stop in public nor try to convince others it's such a fun. That's said, i simply don't like how some people overdo with their philosphies etc.
If they want let them include homosexual or bisexual characters into the game, but include for example: fat ones too[ i bet you can't create fat and ugly character in 90% crpgs- why? ;) ] , sick ones too, mentally unstable, etc.
What i don't like is making main feauture of the game from that. And it is such clear in DA:I we will get good crpg game, vast and with nice lore but many crpg gamers will call it crap becouse of slightly wrong marketing.
I still think this game will be much better in terms of crpg than for example Witcher 3 [ it will be awesome too but it s more hn's ].
First i must say im little rpg nerd and someone who you can call "hardcore" rpg player , and spend some years with rpg gaming too since early 90's. Nevermind, you can call me retarded but i really liked whole Mass Effect series
and first Dragon Age. Sure they had their flaws but especially in Mass Effect i remember to this day many characters, like Wrex, Liara, Tali, Anderson, Udina, Thane, Garrus,Illusive Man,Joker etc., sure maybe that game was in 70% "corridor shooter crpg" but it was still crpg.
You can feel the world, feel the story, and so on [even if they are so naive]. There are very low number of crpgs [old or new] where you can remember such large number of NPC after few years. To be honest i can recall in one moment, right now, only characters from:
Baldur's Gate I&II, Fallouts,VtM:Bloodlines, Ultima, Elder Scrolls and... well without reading some wikis, notes, or playing again i can't say i remember more npc's names form other games at call.
Despites all well deserved crap that Bioware gets after releasing Dragon Age II i think they are back on the track again. They done good games before in their "modern" era : NWNs 1& 2, Mass Effects, Dragon Age I .
I hope they will continue to be one of the important developers for the crpgs, even with let downs as DAII or Gaider's policy they deserve to stay in "mainstream" .
Crpgs often goes into dead end corridor, and focus on mechanics as main feauture. How is that happens if at the base of every paper rpg , lies the story and characters? How many players focus only on ways of developing character, create powerfull one, "winning", "completing". In role playing other things matters, they were just stories long time ago. Mechanics are just addon. It can be compared for example to many rpg sessions or tabletop Warhammer games. In WFB many players focus on stats, mechanics and "builds" , same with paper rpgs or crpgs. While mechanics are important they are just for making story more fun and enjoyable. True power of rpgs lies in creating almost "real" world where you can "teleport" from our real life for some time and have fun. Games and playing focused on the "right" mechanics only and "winning" becomes boring fast and be it tabletop games, pen&paper ones or computer role play it will be fast forgotten. Main problem of today's crpgs are gamers themselves, most of them just want something they don't really have time for. How many of you really read about lore, try to "learn" about given game background etc.?
Over 80% today crpg gamers want to sit, complete and forget. So developers give them what they want and buy.

I haven't read any of the Dragon Age comics or novels but from what I gathered from playing the two first games and reading some codex (game codex, not this forum) entries, DA lore is pretty bland and boring. And I'm not even a Bioware hater, I really loved Mass Effect's lore/universe/setting, although I'm biased for sci-fi/future/space and against medieval fantasy. But even then, there's medieval game lore that I find very appealing (TES Lore - despite its many defects it's still pretty interesting), it's just that DA's seems like such an uninspired afterthought.

You get it right, Dragon Age lore is not as deep as Elder Scrolls lore but still it can do the job well. And Elder Scrolls lore is not that rich as you can suppose ;), and im telling it, nerd who have Encyclopedia Tamrielica printed and leather covered in 2 tomes ;).

As for Infinitorn question, nay im not "from" Watch i created account there some time but found Rpgwatch fukin boring beyond any level so i stayed here, why?
