Think DU mentioned aiming for the 'create an item' kickstarter tier ($1000), so I guess people could design a Codex codpiece or whatever.

Game is a single plane right? No chance at all in this game of JA2 style snippers on the roof or climbing stuff?
(actually, i suspect that there is no chance of that on any of the kickstarter games *grumble*).

I am very pleased to see that the personality trait stats will actually be used for between and within character groups interactions. Awesome.

I'm actually looking forward to playing the co-op mode with my brother the most. It's very rare that a co-op game has the complexity and exploration of a CRPG

In one of the Wasteland 2 screen shots they showed characters at different elevations.

Well that's easy to fake, even BG1 had 'different elevations'. The point is if you have to make a special action to get there.

I assumed that, but yes, probably expecting too much unless they have a heightmap. Which, btw, it would be totally dumb not to have, even if only for the lighting renders.

Ah, so i guess it's in on W2, and might or might not be on T2. Also, actually it's a bit hard (without middleware at least) to make pathfinding that can operate on more than 'one dimension' seamlessly. Go under or over a bridge, jump down the bridge kind of thing (for the enemies obviously).

DOS and PE seem to be 2d, so their only route for elevations bonus/malus is heightmaps. But the 'over/under' thing and pathfinding/climbing would appear to be harder/impossible for them.

"Copy protection is bad" -- Sven Vincke, true bro for sho.

I would just fucking LOVE for some large scale community support of the game in terms of custom modules and campaigns.

Video showed images of posts by Jaedar, Black, and Davaris.

...and Roguey and Shrek.

Swen seems really excited, it's almost contagious :D

Also Matt called turn based an innovation :obviously:

Swen said there is a possibility people will be able to sell mods to this game. That would be the first time I have heard of any developer doing that.

I guess if Larian retain the IP, they could pretty easily make seperate contracts with the best mod-makers so that they can sell their very high-end mods (i am imagining a royalty kind of thing)L

On Diablo 3:

"I brought it home, I wanted to play it with my girlfriends..."

Girlfriends. Plural. Holy hell, I didn't know Belgians were such players.

Yeah, 1k is too little, we need to be worthy oif the Codex reference!

We should at least be going for the $1.5k option to get a npc, items are boring....unless the npc is a item.

We could become a talking multi-headed flail that abuses its enemies when in use and its wielder when not.

It would be great if they did it like Unreal Engine, where people pay royalties if they earn over a certain amount. That way everyone gets a shot and Larian wouldn't have to filter good mods from bad ones. Anyway it probably won't go ahead. Sounds too good to be true.
