It's just a whole lot more comfortable for me to use keyboard for movement, especially considering it's a big world to explore.

Oh I understand you now. I get carpal tunnel when I am using 3D editors for hours on end, so a keyboard alternative would be good.

I think they might be hesitant to offer it, because it would not work in turn based combat, as the characters stand still and wait for finished commands.

It is a good idea though. Perhaps they will sneak it in as a side feature, for real time movement only.

330k now, looking good to get well beyond target (which wasn't the case in the early 200s when it looked like it was slowing dramatically).

Hope they get substantially more than the 400.

They'll probably reach 600-700K, unless there appear some spectacular stretch goals which will draw more people in.
Larian is not very popular in the USA, it seems, and that's the country where most people are willing to mindlessly throw their money at KS.

A lot of people in europe do not have a credit card aswell. Kickstarter is pretty USA focused, I'm glad larian is going to make it, the botched launch really had me worried, but the money keeps coming steadily. Also once the funding is met there's a new audience waiting. Lot of people don't feel like pledging when it's not certain a project's going to make it.

We have a fundraiser though.

Even with the 600$ from the foundraiser we're behind :(.

And that's all my fault because I haven't donated yet  . By the way have we tried to grab a few copies of the game for the foundraiser, or the same thing the LARPing order is getting ?

They are a great gang and well on their way to earning something special from us!

Stretchgoals, Music Preview

Update #7 · Apr 5, 2013 · 1 comment
Higher And Higher

We are very proud to announce stretchgoals this early in our campaign. We have 82% of our target pledged, and that wouldn't have been possible without our pledgers. So even if this starts sounding like a broken record: thank you!

We have listened to the community in setting up these stretchgoals. We hope you recognize some of your influence ;-)

In this update:

- Stretchgoals Explained
- A Nice Graphic For Those Stretchgoals
- A Preview of One of Kirill's Songs

It's a rather large update so follow the link here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larianstudios/divinity-original-sin/posts/446704?ref=activity

A sneak at some music:

Edit: Explanation on the stretch goals:

I'd just like to add that coming up with these stretchgoals was pretty damn hard. Reality (time and budget) was the biggest killer... We would have loved to have switched some of these around, or made smaller gaps, but we have to be realistic... If we want to do things right, they're gonna cost time.
For instance, if we are allowed to do schedules, we NEED day and night. If you have day and night, it has to mean something extra too (affects things, impact on stuff). If you have schedules, people should react accordingly, and actually MEAN what they do: if they go to bed, they pick up their stuff outside, and lock their doors, and if you do break in, they should react accordingly. So we're thinking ahead, and that makes us realize that some things are not just as simple as we would like them to be ;-)
Thanks for the support though, reading that you like these goals is really a huge pat on the back, and a relief ;-)

Would have liked the henchmen stretch goal a bit earlier (I don't think they will reach 800k even if I really hope they do, but who knows).
The homestead sounds a bit like the Dragon Tower, but what sounds interesting about it is that:
Don't forget, this plane exists at the end of time only, and changes according to significant choices you make in the present
And I guess this part:
Beware the Imp Historian though, he still pays you visits and he's very interested in everything you have and he has his own ideas about interior decoration
...will provide a typical Larian approach to the whole thing. I'm not totaly overwhelmed by it, though.
Talents and personality traits sound nice. More options and possibilities in character creation/building are always welcome. Hope it reaches 650k.

The 1 mil goal of course is fucking awesome, but how likely is that?

If I'm not reading it wrong they're saying that the npc schedules will have an impact on the gameworld, not that they won't be absent all together if the goal isn't reached. That would be dumb.

If we don't reach that mill, sven has to fill the gap with his own money because of starting the KS too early :x

I'm generally indifferent towards player homes, but I have to say this one sounds really good (the time travel aspect reminds me of Day of the Tentacle). I'm actually considering cutting my Torment pledge down to $25; we really need all these stretch goals.
