It's info available to all project managers, I believe.

Direct referral will always be higher because of people who see it somewhere then manually google it later (which, probably, is most of "Search"), but it's also notable that it's coming from Discover - VG, which is a different story; that really is more likely to be random people first hearing about it on KS page itself. I think I clicked through Codex and pledged this time because this KS surprised us all, but for others, I think I googled in.

But yes, interesting that Codex & Watch far outstrip neogaf and SA, which are some of the biggest forums in the entire internets.

Is that any real wonder seeing how specific these two forums are about preferences in gaming, seeing how much pent up energy we accumulated over the long, long years of decline?

I fnd it especially interesting for the Codex, that (good) RPG developers see that more than "glittering gems of hatred", websites like Glorious Codexia and that other one with the tower actually do contribute, way more than the big popamole portals.

Sure, both os us together barelly gave 20k, but that's almost 8% of the total amount. Not bad for websites that publishers usually don't give a shit about.
Hush before we find EA at the doorstep begging for money for their new Kickstarter they'll surely start soon (which will require a always online platform to pledge).

Nepotism doesn't mean what you think it means.
"Favoritism granted to relatives or close friends, without regard to their merit."

What approach to systems? We don't even know specifics about the systems and character creation and skill point distribution.
We've already seen their approach to attributes and derived statistics. It's terribad.

The root/origin of the word basically means 'nephew'.

I have a suggestion for 'non-family nepotism', however:

Favoritism.

Codex is above the Watch, finally! (but only in number of pledges)
Wait, what? Where is this information? If there's a Codex VS Watch pissing contest I want to at least see it!

Also, note that his mailbox got 1k more unread messages since Saturday. :P

I'm almost willing to bet that the bulk of the 87 Facebook-pledges come from http://www.facebook.com/bgseries :smug:

This is true from a linguistic perspective, but...

nepot-, nepo-

(Latin: nephew; grandson, grandchild; descendant [family member]; nepotism, et al.)

Nepotism refers only to (undeserved being a connotation) favoritism shown towards relatives.

(dictionary)
nep·o·tism [nep-uh-tiz-uhm] Show IPA
noun
patronage bestowed or favoritism shown on the basis of family relationship, as in business and politics: She was accused of nepotism when she made her nephew an officer of the firm.

The misuse is your own, not common use.

The new compressed Kickstarter video is pretty good. I'm still not sure about some of the rewards, though. Name a pet in my own game? That sounds like the sort of thing you could easily mod in yourself, using their editor.

Still, looking great. These guys deserve more support.

Nepot has the exact same meaning in romanian. Feels damn good to be a romance language speaker. :smug:

Oh yeah and 75% funded YEAAAAAAAAHHH.

Hopefully now that the Torment kickstarter ends more founds will start pouring into this one. I hope. It would be a damn shame if they get less than $1 mil by the end.

r00fles! at Roguey having a new fan!

http://www.lar.net/2013/04/04/kickstarter-campaign-day-7-6666-backers-about-learning-things/

Some people and Larian will never click, fact of life. (Don’t worry Roguey, I didn’t give up on you yet, even if I think the odds are not in my favour)

Lots to learn from Brian Fargo. He even got Roguey to increase his/her pledge. He might even get 66666 backers. Really well done.
Hopefully Larian will do a rogueylike next.

And their DRM-less-ness puts them over 9000 levels above steam.

Idiocracy
Sven has an account here, he's just not very active. Probably just browses the forum for reactions.

Wouldn't surprise me if Sven and many other devs come here using alts and VPNs.
