Alright, a more coherent bunch of spoiler-heavy thoughts about something. Maybe it's obvious from space and I'm stupid, maybe it isn't, I'm curious...

Was Klaasje in on the whole Wild Pines operation all along?

It doesn't seem to be spelled out anywhere, but it seems to be explain a bunch of stuff.

The way things are layed out, what Harry and Kim work out is this:

1) Klaasje shows up in Martinaise, of all places, some months before. The strike's been going on for months by the point Harry arrives on the scene, and Klaasje's holed up in the place where the Union's enforcers have their own booth and spend a lot of time.
2) Klaasje gets good with the union enforcers, sleeps with at least Titus.
3) She's a spy of some kind, a very competent one.
4) At some point a squad of moraly bankrupt, to put it lightly, Oranjeese mrecenaries show up, sent by Wild Pines.
5) Their commander, a scary-looking badass about Harry's age shows up at the place where Klaasje is staying and makes a nuisance of himself.
6) Klaasje hooks up with the guy. When questioned, she seems to have gotten to know him quite well, shows sympathy for him, even or especially the artrocious parts of him.
7) They're both Oranjeese, as is the rest of the goon squad.
8) Guy gets shot completely out of the blue.
9) Klaasje deals with the situation in a way that escalates the strike situation - she gets the union guys to do the dumbest, most inflamatory thing they could've done, which is publicly claim that they killed the guy, and string him up in a visible place.
10) After the incident not really leading anywhere for a week, Klaasje calls the cops. And, the whole setup with the fake lynching was made in a way which would lead cops to conclude that the Hardies were the ones who did it, and had no motivation other than him being a mercenarie set out to supress the strike.
11) Then when Harry digs into the case, the Hardies point him towards Klaasje.
11) Then Klaasje does something impossibly strange - she dismisses the Hardies motivation as unfounded (she wasn't raped), claims she had nothing to do with it, and makes it look as if the Hardies killed him and are trying to use her to make it look like it wasn't related to the strike.

Then, things evolve towards Klassje having to admit what happened (as far as she knows), but, again, using the situation to frame Ruby, who's part of the Union's drug smuggling operation and basically a member of the Hardie boys. Which, again, serves no purpose other than to cause problems for both the investigation and the Union.

Then, if not arrested, she bails as soon as shit hits the fan.

What I think happened is that Klaasje was in cahoots with either Wild Pines, or maybe just Lely the whole time. I don't think they just met there by accident, and a bunch of her behavior seems to have been directed at escalating the strike situation, or getting the militant union members into trouble, even when she was improvising.

What do you guys think. Is this a "dooooh" moment, or a "no it can't be" moment, or a "huh, never thought of it that way" moment?

She had to be aware of the Union situation after settling down in there but I'm not sure about the rest. She's desesperatedly trying to escape her own life by her own admision by getting sky high and hammered every night, so I wouldn't put it past her to also indulge in her desires by sleeping around with the Hardies and then Lely. She did seem like she had a lot of baggage with what she did in her old work so it makes sense that she would empathize with someone that also did completely monstrous shit like Lely. If she had somehow orchestrated the shot? Sure, 100%. But she didn't even know why they shot him, and she thought it was meant for her. The plan she came up with was while she was high so it makes sense it'd be something so stupid if you consider the situation with the Union - which she isn't thinking about. She's thinking about what happens if they hide the body and the cops send Johnny Jaw-Law unto the case, the same ones that share their info with the Moralintern and that would without be tipped about looking into it by the Wild Pines.
There's a chance that what you're proposing is true though. I don't think there's anything in the game that necessarily contradicts it and with so many times Miss Oranje Disco Dancer fooled us, what's one more?

Now if you want a REALLY schizo theory, after hearing the interview with Robert I'm ABSOLUTELY certain that the pale is erased timelines. He talks about how after a while every setting, even when kids are at the helm, devolves from "meaning" into "logic", like why can this guy fly but these can't? What's the point in this system, what's it for? So it'd be really weird for him to think about the pale but not have any thought for it other that what it does. Then he talks about how he worked on the setting of Elysium since he was a teen; it was a completely different setting not only once but a LOT of times. It was bronze-age, it was medieval, etc. It evolved over time. Disco Elysium already isn't affraid to get meta with these sort of things and Robert seems like a HUGE nerd, and what's even nerdiest than incorporating not only your previous, erased settings into your current one, but also giving an in-universe explanation as for why you, as a writer, decided to change it into something else again and again during decades?

I mean he calls himself a "Human Project" C'MON PEOPLE

I think the whole "what if cops come around snooping" angle makes sense until you figure she called the cops (if she indeed did call the cops). Another thing is that we don't get told how many Oranjeese goons there are (in fact we get told the wrong number), so it's possible that the number is even more incorrect. She's not with Krenel as a death-squad member, I couldn't claim that, but she could've been engaged by the Wild Pines or in cahoots with Lely from the get go.

Ultimately, I feel weird about her shooting down Titus' story, and I find it extremely, extremely weird that she didn't bail immediately, but stuck around to try to frame the Hardies, then try to frame Ruby. And then, if you don't arrest her, but go chasing after Ruby, you find out that she was well aware that she was framing them, and having decided to bail still spent some time trying to figure out where the shot came from. Sure, she could've been interested in landing her would-be killers into trouble with the police, but taking the fact that she called the cops, along with the fact that she spent some time thinking about wth actually happened and left you a clue, it made me think she really had feelings for Lely, likely ones developed over more than just a bizzare fling, and really wanted whoever did it caught.

But she didn't bail immediately, she stuck around to try to frame basically anyone involved with the union to the best of her abilities. If you look at it that way. Either I missed something that gives it away, or we'll never know, but it's an interesting thought to pursue.

I finally finished Disco second time after a long brake, i hoped that with Last Cut i could finally find those unused RCM pants, discover that secret arena in Rubys hideout and venture out to search for Coke skull. Sadly i could only do one of those things, somewhat (it seems that you can find RCM pants after Tribunal but you must have hardcore mode on, and since i was playing on normal i edited the save file to add them to my eq after Tribunal). Im disappointed by Final Cut tbh i expected more, though portrait from fascist quest was quite prestigious (though sadly this doesnt change ingame model) and this time i got secret end message about possible coup by RCM. I wonder if it has anything to do with possible communard roots of our organisation though i hope that character of this future coup will depend on our choices and worldview in sequel. Hmm maybe sequel will be called Disco Infernum since it seems that future of revachol will be quite chaotic.

EDIT: And i almost forgot, Dora is a fucking evil bitch, fuck her, she destroyed Harry's life. Lilliene is better, bah La Revacholiere, your city is better she even said that she truly loves Harry. Even fucking phasmid is better than that war criminal!

Erased timelines? Why do i feel that this will somehow lead to giving save states and save scumming explanation in lore. Like im almost 90% sure that in sequel, save scumming in DE will be somehow alluded to.

Hey, that's a pretty good idea. Kasparov Steal it if this wasn't already your plan.

Finally, the most glorious RPG ever is the most prestigious language!
It was already released in Mandarin, bruv.

Ironically, the game was not banned in China itself, and instead became extremely popular in the Chinese market due to a high quality localisation and its deep, resonant story. However, the name of the Communism ideology was changed from the correct Chinese word (gongchan zhuyi - 'common-good ideology') to the made-up term kangmi zhuyi (kangmi is just gibberish that sounds like the English word 'commie') in order to get around Chinese censorship rules concerning politics.

Prestigious RPG enjoyers of China are prestigious. :obviously:

I wish we could get Rene uniform without being a flithy thief, its badass but old man deserves to be buried with it.

Shouldn't give his uniform after you save him from the commie horde? You even have a sword for fighting them!

Jason Liang, could you dig some up perhaps? (Preferably some with a mainlander point of view.)
as far as I know, rpgs are not popular in mainland China. Too much reading. Also, where would one play it? There is next to no console market, and kids play games on PCs play them at internet cafes (which are also now almost non-existent) and play either MOBAs like League of Legends, RTS like StarCraft, shooters like PUBG, or MMOs like WoW. I've seen strategy games like Total War Rome, and Hearts of Iron strangely has a following (most popular among Paradox games).

Also note that last time I checked Steam is banned in mainland China.

There's probably a market for translated JRPGs/ eroge/ VN.

Jamais Vu Update & huge thanks for 2021!
New secrets to find and 55% off in the Winter Sale

The static hisses in your ears as you slowly spin the dial. Nothing but warbling data from a planar anomaly. Is there anything at all? A small sadness creeps in.

“...”

Wait! Go back. Between your finger and thumb the hiss becomes a hum and your hairs stand to their end. You hear the sounds of waves roaring; a formidable chorus of water. A small splash, and then...

“... or weaker… now”

“... dying is an art.”

The static returns. But there is no doubt. A man’s voice, one you’ve never heard before, telling secrets from a place that could be anywhere and nowhere at all.
