Only MMO lite things in D4 are Legion events and World Bosses. World Bosses end in about 10s and Legion events are boring and pointless and are only useful to get some better gear as soon as you switch to new WT by letting others kill shit for you (and getting seasonal awards).
There are also Helltides but number of other players there go from 0 to about 5 when doing Helltide boss fight.

That's what I thought too. They captured the grim and gross feel of Diablo. Now if they could only make the game good.

It has too much filler shit but it is still miles above D3. Did you forget the butterfly that killed Cain. Unicorn secret level? Demon Lord that shows up to you every 10 minutes and taunts you like a 14 year old playing CoD? Angels all acting like retards? Fight in Haven that just looks like any other area? Say what you want about D4 but the campaign was p good and they did a great job of setting Mephisto up as the big bad. He was the best part of D4's story.

The funny thing about Diablo is he isn't a very good depiction of Satan. He has the iconic demon look and that's about it. Mephisto shares far more similarities with Satan. He's charming, clever, and manipulative.

Campaign was a piece of shit and the designers had 4 seasons to prove they are braindead monkeys wasting art resources. They got lucky marketing and art departments sold the shit out of this game so Blizzard doubled down on it. Then they got lucky again PoE2 is luling around instead of releasing. But they are so INCREDIBLY SHIT, they can't even figure out one of the most basics genres out there.

There's plenty of end game now. Or, to be more precise, there's enough content to have a decent end game, maybe even good.
It's not used well because because the designers don't know the genre, lack common sense and basic math skills.
