Oh and developers backed out their own promises. They tried to make hardcore game with some survival aspects, like limited resources that you carefully need to manage and ration.
Melee weapons were meant as backup weapon, by developers posts and promises, for ranged/ballistic weapons that depend on ammo. Ammo was supposed to be scarce enough. Not happening here. You cant run out of ammo, unless you really try to (energy cells being exception).
So much for using your resources, without wasting them and using them smart.

This is one of broken design decisions that go against developer promises, there are much more of them.

Is the blade combat fun in this? Still on my talky character so I haven't tried it yet, but I absolutely loved playing AoD and Dungeon Rats as a solo dagger-bastard, arterial striking the fuck out of everyone. Doing Whirlwind twice a turn was absolute gold.

Logically it should play really well with the stealth stuff since you'll be naturally investing in critical strike and therefore getting your takedown number way up.

Not sure about that. Game rewards specialisation. And every time you are not doing combat and stealthing instead, you are not getting stronger in combat and it all goes to sneak and crit. Plus its kinda impossible to assassinate people without raising alarms if you do not have cloak gadget and heavy stealth feat investment. If you invest heavy in stealth, you won't have enough feats for combat. If you try to mix it up, later harder encounters that are designed for specialists will wreck you.

Specialist juggernaut blade builds are fun though.

yeah, game feels pretty much worse than aod and dungeon rats...
its pretty banal (shit) boring all around, as was shown in early access

banal
boring
soulless
stiff
uninspired
nothing

i would write more but too lazy, there are many a wrong in this gayme here

writing is shit (its like scifi brutalism, dreary soulless shit, there is no idea like in golden age scifi story, just futuristic brutalism), im already not reading what npcs says, only reading the response options, pressing 123, especially in the dialogue minigame...
i still dont give the tiniest of shit if jonas or regulators win and why is it blocking habitat...?

combat is shit, tough fights feel like im dicking around the ai and the rng more than aod and dungeon rats (and that says alot cause i dicked the ai around in dungeon rats a bunch); ai decides to focus down fayth? u r done -> move one square left (without reason!) -> they aggro the tank! - this completely decides the outcome
land a crit right and dominoes fall
aim legs, aim legs, aim legs, aim legs, aim legs... quetsions?
there are only 2 trivial things that i had to decide in combat: do i poison or flashbang depending on resists, AND, sometimes you have to go melee
well... two times i had to reshuffle armor and who gets which gadget

i dont have an opinion on sneaking and starting combat from it, havent thought about it deeper

enemy type is utterly unreadable, is it a pistol or rifle, how much armor where... and so on
enemy variety is so sad, just compare to underrail, cause its practically 1 damage type == physical
i differentiate enemies in melee, ranged, and if its a fucker with obscene reactions and accuracy
there are weapon effect but i have not seen bleed or knockdown, they just shoot you at legs arms head, i dont pay attention to it
itemisation is shit: if im looking at gear after a fight, spot a new boots and look over the numbers and decide that i dont care? well thats bad! terrible! i have a full inventory of vendortrash variants and i only look at them when a fight is not falling even with rng help

graphics are eh, i find them mostly ...unpleasant, hydroponics can be nice to look at just like a nice green hedge can be looked at...
monochrome inventory and outer glow on on soulless plastic trash though, gee, desaturated blackness is the motto

quests... i dunno... they are so compartmentalized, this kill-steal-speak is just ...sovlless...
like on one hand cs offers more options and more approaches to every quests than aod but
it feels like a rogue casting shoot_arrow, vs a fighter casting hit_sowrd, vs mage casting teleport
they start at the same place, and finish in the same place, they have differnt names but feel identical

ooooh, you know how vd made an rpg into a shitty meta-chaining-adventure by denying you free xp allocation and hoarding? well, they "backpedaled"! now you can hoard feats! which can give instant 2 skillpoints if you want to check what is in those 7 lockpick lockers and reload, or pass any trashtier speech miniigame and see if its to your liking |
we are back in bizness fellow powergays! i am hoarding 2 token dispensers right noa!!! they give 400xp crit strike but only 200 for other skills *sadface*

music is different enough, but i wouldnt recognize a tune 10 minutes later... slightly better than elevator?

aod felt more interesting from the get go, dungeon rats had the luxury of very strong weapon type differentiation
cs has nothing but unreal engine with hidden lockpick targets clipping though walls
dead inside

So true.

This is honest opinion that even fanboys cant prove wrong.

Game is a mess now, maybe it will be better with patches, but right now it it failure, for reasons in quoted post.

Retarded ass shit
You sound like an insufferable fucking queer.

Talking about queer, eh?

As Erdogan said.. i am not fan of Turkey, but he said it perfectly: "Those who used to pour crocodile tears on Ukraine are now silent about what is happening in Gaza".
Well, this is Colony Ship developer approach, first "ukraine plz muh suffering halp", but right now they are so fucking silent.

So who is queer here, now.

Can we finally recruit her as a companion?
Nah, she never ended becoming one. Not like this was ever planned though.

They could have done it, there was popular request for it. But developers just went with "fuck you, dont want" route.
Despite adding 1 more companion is not that time consuming, knowing how limited companion interaction is in game. Just fucking lazy.

Nothing to do with wants and everything to do with being broke indie developers slaving away for seven years without any reasonable budget. Inifnite things could've been done better. If there were resources for it. There wasn't. So final game is best it could possible be.

People like you live in la la land where everything is easy and happens on its own, coz you don't know shit and never tried to develop anything. Fuck off.

End result, game quality and content people asked for - this matters.
Excuses why they failed to to this or failed to do that - matter not.

Seven people, seven years, full time? I'm going to be honest. This is an underwhelming result.
It 100% makes sense they can't continue if this is 49 man years of effort.

i don't get the animosities. ITS did exactly what they wanted to do. love it or leave it, there's not much else to it.

This may seems like a strange complaint and it's one of those things I never thought I'd miss until it wasn't there: interface sound effects.

You know, like the little "thud" when you drag an item from the inventory to an equipment slot or all the tiny audio cues for things like getting XP or getting a skill level-up or accepting a quest or something. The few interface sound effects that exist are also kind of lame (like the one for switching weapons).

This makes the game feel very silent, like the music is almost all there is.

Having started a choice-heavy, sci-fi themed RPG, I didn't think twice and took a 'scientific prodigy INT 10 guy' with some DEX and PER for some shooting. As the first feat I chose the bonus exp and at the second level the second bonus exp feat too. I am still in the beginning, but so far I have waltzed through 90% of encounters like a hot knife through butter, defusing heated situations, stealing everything, scavenging every electronic successfully, even talking everybody into anything except the armor vendor...

For the non-hero difficulty this surely raises eyebrows :D

But don't get me wrong, I like the game already. It's just that I hope it gets harder later on?

I'm relatively far in and there are some choice encounters that gave me some trouble but nothing major.

I would recommend gettin sneak up, one regret on my int 10 (now Int 12) char is having basically all skills leveled except sneak and that comes up quite a lot.

I reloaded to 10 mins ago and re-picked to tag Sneak. I was actually pondering that Sneak might be important, but then went with the 'randomly chosen critical'. Thank you!

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
>go for the law and order type
>Protectors faction are actually collectivist assholes
>check out the self-proclaimed freedom party of the Brotherhood
>they're literally Soviets with political commissars

Guess I'll have to check out the Church next and hope they're not dicks...
So it's a choice between nanny state libruls, commies and churchtards. Ergh.

Is there any wise guys type faction? You know, do as you please as long as you give us a cut?

Vault Dweller, how come the game has portraits with punk hair, while the 3D customization only supports natural hair colors?

Punk hair? Isn't that more like non-binary hair?
