For now, it's in FRENCH only BUT it might change soon, at the very least a translation of every screen and the rules will be available in the game's forum as I'm translating it in ENGRISH and I'm halfway through.
The dev. might be able to offer a full english version once I'm done with the translation.

Challengers (link to the website)

What's the game about?

Gladiator's development
  • Attributes, Skills; there's 25 of them + 2 innate basic skills split into 5 Disciplines, 10 are passive (but you can only use 4 passive skills per fight).
  • Skills have multiple effects, it's a fighting game so you have 6 direct hit skills, 2 indirect ones, healing skills, skills to act faster, to avoid getting hit, to improve your armor or to debuff your opponents for a given duration (depending on the skill level).
  • Character development is quite deep, min/max is not optimal for every build, rather the opposite and the most important thing is the synergy between attributes and skills.

Team Manager
  • For each fight, win or loss you get a certain amount of credits, attribute experience and disciplines experience, higher rewards if you win and depending on how many opposing teams and enemies you had to fight.
  • There's a research area, quite simple but giving various bonuses, 12 of them and you can get them all after 210 days but you can get the first 3 in 3 * 7days.
  • You can buy equipment to improve you gladiator, not much fancy effects as the skills do just that but some have some hidden bonuses, they're extremely expensive though.
  • You can pay credits (in game free currency) to increase your number of fighters and equipment storage.

Clans
  • Clans give you access to your clan's private forum, allows you to join tournaments and clash of clans fights (once a month).
  • There's also some bonus to unlock and it costs credits, if you join an older Clan, chances are, everything is unlocked.

Fights
  • Fights are extremely tactical once you reach a decent Disciplines level and are able to focus on some skills or develop more of them to adapt to your opponent.
  • There's different kind of fights: duels, free for all, team free for all, team vs team, one vs a team...
  • With greater risks comes greater rewards.
  • Your gladiator's starting attitude determines which fights he'll take part the most but you can change it at will once you unlock one particular research (70 days if you focused on it).

If you've played Dragon Age Origins, its AI settings is a simplified version of Challengers tactics screen.

TL DR

If anyone is interested, I can post a starting guide here.

It's a long haul game, if you're good, it'll take at least 6 month/ 1 year to win a Tournament n°2 or a youth's tournament and 1/2 years for a Tournament n°1 or a All Stars Tournament.

If you like tactics and character development, it's the alpha and the omega, I've played many browser or stand alone gladiator's games and nothing comes close, Challengers is just the best one.
