It's worth pointing out that CD Projekt Red hasn't stopped calling Cyberpunk 2077 an RPG entirely, as some storefronts have included the descriptor as a tag, but it seems to be embracing it more now that you can finally change your hair.
I've heard of open world RPGs, action RPGs, RPGs, adventure games, but never of open-world action-adventure RPGs.Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure RPG

Savage.
Isn't it all of those things though? Is every open-world game action? Is every RPG an open-world game?I've heard of open world RPGs, action RPGs, RPGs, adventure games, but never of open-world action-adventure RPGs.Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure RPG

At least they didn't call it an "immersive sim" - though I'm sure someone did. Thank Warren Spector for that meaningless non-word.
"Action-Adventure RPG" isn't a new term, I remember it being quite common some twenty years back, it's just grown to be more commonly contracted to Action-RPG these days. Cyberpunk 2077 fits the bill, combining the characteristics of Action-Adventure games, where the player's physical aptitudes for reflexes, perception and precision drive a single character through a focused plot, with those of an RPG, relying on the player's abstract tactical thinking for progression and reactivity. New Vegas, Gothic, Deus Ex and Mass Effect are all Action-Adventure RPGs. The former two also tick the Open-World box, whereas the latter two are, separately, also an Immersive Sim and a Stand-Around-In-A-Fucking-Elevator Simulator, respectively.I've heard of open world RPGs, action RPGs, RPGs, adventure games, but never of open-world action-adventure RPGs.Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure RPG
The world they are depicting, is the world we are going to have in 2050, even in Poland. It's pretty retarded since they designed the world to seem like a satire of a thoroughly pornified society.
Then they do this, and you realise it's not a satire.

The game exhibits what the WEF reserve to us.
Max-Vaxxed, Max-chipped, max-pornified, max-controlled, etc...
Verdict:
Phantom Liberty is often Cyberpunk 2077 at its very best. A gripping narrative complete with great characters adds another dimension to the open world RPG, while the main mission and side quest design remains top notch throughout. It's a tremendous expansion that delivers a truly memorable experience.
Pros:
Cons:
- Gripping story moments
- Fantastic characters
- Some top-tier missions
- Intense boss fights
- Dogtown art direction is superb
- Amazing soundtrack
- Dynamic events are a great addition
Edit: Review has been taken down apparently. Will update the link once it's up again.
- One particular mission is a bit of a drag
- Shallow dialogue choices at times
- Some minor bugs
Score: 9/10
Playtime: ~30h
Edit 2: Alternative link to review (huge shoutout to u/It_aint_broken!)
When does the NDA lift?

Can you at least fuck the president in the DLC?
Compared to Starfield, even CP2077 1.0 looks good. I already watched several Starfield vs. Cyberpunk 2077 comparisons, made to make fun of Starfield.Starfield's release seems to make Phantom Liberty so good by comparison. I mean essentially it's still the same old CP2077 with a new lick of paint, yet I'm actually stoked to play a relatively competently made mindless action game after that piece of shit.
Personally I blame consoles for this kind of WoW cancer spreading, because there are not enough buttons to do proper active skills. Borderlands pioneered this approach in cuntsole games, as you had just one "class special abbility" button but of course they needed to put in skill trees.... and we're here.MMO tier skills: activate a skill in order to trigger a passive effect that gives increased passive stats that lasts for 10 seconds and while active spam certain abilities.
This is WoW class design.
I mean they are both kinda bad for different reasons but yeah okCompared to Starfield, even CP2077 1.0 looks good. You can only delay a project for so long before you need to release it no matter what, people need to get paid. What really harmed them was the last gen console versions being released simultaneously, and that was probably out of necessity too. I think this is what happened to Starfield and likely will happen with the next elder scrolls, too.A delayed game will eventually be good only if you actually have people capable of making it good. Delays won't change anything if it's shit by design. It looks better than 2 years ago when i finished it.
CDPR were fucking morons to release it in 2019. it was obvious that the game was at least 1,5-2 years away from being done.
