Well?

I think it woudl be the shit. I loved the cartoons as a kid, they taught me somuch about the environment. And the show was great too. Plus Linka was soooo HOT!!

Now think: You generate a party of 5 ringweilders, and assign stats adn stuff. then you go about on your geo-cruiser and preventpollution. And you can combine the powers of your ring to summon Captain Planet!! Combat will be turnbased ofcourse.

Thoughts?

Discuss!!

If the creators used the origina cartoons theme song for the first gameplay trailer it would be a guaranteed commercial sucess.

ITT, we discuss 80s/90s cartoons, and their possibility as RPGs.

How about DIIIIIIIIINOSAUCEEEEEEEEERS?

Or Johnny Quest, the RPG? SWAT cats, the RPG?

If you could choose different elements for your ring wielders and different combinations summoned different Captain Planets, it would be cool. If you didn't have a Heart ring-wielder, you'd better be reall careful, for instance. Only summon in dire emergencies because you will call Captain Pollution.

Freedom Force wasa super hero action rpg. A good one...though I was pissed they went with a gay old setting.

Pretty much. And it's a pity there won't be more Freedom Force games.

But anyhoo, I'd love a properly done action game with proper C&C, character generation (power scale and so on having effects later in the game) and plenty of well-written dialogue. Non-linear cityscape as a setting with actually stuff to do (unlike GTA games) and random events and encounters.

And of course, it should under no circumstances be some grimdark XTREEEEEEEEEMMMMEEEE 90's shit.

Ahh you crazy kids....just you wait a few years and you too will have the pleasure of your child-hood cartoons being butt-raped by awful film and game rip-offs...

And on a related note - just on the very unlikely possibility that he's a codexian - FUCK YOU MICHAEL BAY!!!! FUCK YOU TO HELL!!!! THE 1980s TRANSFORMERS CARTOON MOVIE MIGHT BE RATED BY LEANORD MALTIN'S GUIDE AS ONE OF THE WORST FILMS EVER MADE, BUT GODDAMN IT IT WAS TRUE TO THE TV CARTOONS PLOTLINE, CAME OUT WHEN I WAS A KID, WAS ORSON WELLE'S LAST EVER ROLE, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY KILLED OFF THAT ANNOYING SHIT BUMBLEBEE IN THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES!! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO COME ALONG AND FUCK IT ALL UP??????

The corny rock soundtrack and this scene alone make it one of the best movies evar.

If I was reading between the lines correctly, I think Bioware was/is working on a Super Hero RPG. I think it may have been put on hold for now though.
