I just finished this game and I would love to hear the thoughts of people that have played this wonderful, aggravating, fun, broken, fairly customizable, buggy, and unfinished game. Here's my thoughts on it quickly.

I think this little obscure game does exploring, music, environments, story, some gameplay elements, many of the intertwining quests and finding loot really well but it fumbles on stuff like the horrid loading times on the earlier versions of the game before 1.7

V1.7 though introduces issues like HP regenerating too fast, getting tired too quickly, the lightning ball spell insta killing, and falling through the floor to name a few. It also has a few softlocks like the messenger letter quest and not being able to lie to Dolin Grog about it, but you can with the others. That was the big one for me and set me back like 6 hours.

Using RivaTuner while playing in windowed mode really helped so I can change FPS on the fly to fix V1.7 unlocked frame bugs and I would say the last 1/4th of the game is where you can see its unfinished nature the most.

Id honestly love to see a fan patch for this that keeps the 1.7 fixes and doesn't mess with the issues unlocking the framerate causes.

I might change my stance on games I wish I could unsee much less unplay. Every reviewer I watched could barely play for too long before giving up and I can see why.

Seems best is to be a mage and summon.

Ya. In my opinion the loading hurts first impressions of the game the most like it did with mine. Even if V1.7 of the game was the main one digital copy's provide, it would still be viewed as awful because of the bugs you can run into thanks to it from the start and the cycle would just continue like HP regeneration crap and falling though stairs with no solid bottoms. They need to find a way to uncap the frames when its loading and only when its loading, and it would work out 100X better.

I got by in the game by myself as a 2 handed weapon warrior with damage focus. Having a partner means that EXP only goes to the person who lands the last hit. Sure combat will be a bit harder since you need to funnel enemy's in for the best chance at winning but its SO worth it to become godly powerful fast.

Also is that seriously the trailer?! Interesting how the dude in the first fight didn't flitch like you do in the final game and having locations from the literal final level of the game is...a choice.

Well, GOG forums are no help so I can only assume the DL is v1.1. Maybe steam is different if it is there. I’ll have to dig for patches, Manual (unless it is in the DL) and whatever a FPS switcher is.

No they are no help at all. On steam apparently its patch 1.6? It must not fix the loading though. You can find 1.7 with some googling but I plan to upload it to Archive too since it seems to be hard to find.

I dont know if "FPS Switcher" is the official name for it but I use something called RivaTuner and load the .exe for the game in it. Then set the frames to 60 to fix stairs, HP regen, spells, and a few texture things then put it to 0 (Uncapped) when I need to load outdoor areas fast since I am exploring them. Since 1.7 has a windowed mode that lets you tab out no problem, this worked great. Problem is you have to go fullscreen again so you can see in dark areas and tabbing out of fullscreen crashes the game when you try to play it.

Ill link the patches in a bit if Archive will play nice and just let me upload them.

Meh. I found a Russian manual on steam and links to Russian site that had nothing helpful. BLEH!9
