This is much better than Half-Life Alyx if you want a shooter.

While Alyx has the better theme, it's base mechanics are rubbish compared to Boneworks.

It's just a pity there's not more enemy variety in Boneworks and more intense levels.

Hard to compare the two imho. Boneworks has impressive physics mechanics but still feels clunky. The campaign had some interesting moments and does more with VR but enemy variety/design and ultimately combat felt a little lackluster.

Half Life Alyx is less ambitious with its implementation of VR mechanics but is also a lot less rough around the edges. It has more linear but better designed level and encounter design. Visually it is by far the most impressive VR shooter.
