For normal rolls, Guard is indispensable. Then either Stand Firm for a defensive road block or break tackle for mobility - the latter is most useful for mummies who aren't handicapped by being a loner. Block on first doubles, always. Then it's a choice between reliability (Pro) or added damage (tackle, frenzy).

fackle/frenzy is only really a contender for guys with wild animal. Losing tackle zones is god damn painful, so you'd always want a chance to reroll your bone head rolls. Pro is also added damage since it can reroll a double-pushback into a pow. On a treeman I'd even consider pro before block because fuck take root.

Finally, all Match Day 1 ties are completed and we can move on to week 2!

final-md1.jpg

I'll do some warm up games before taking on Chaos this weekend. :salute:

Azira are you up for a practice match? I'll be on fresh human. Pick something bashy.

Match? Possibly in about 10½-11 hours from now. My work hours on wednesdays are in the afternoon, but I have to take my mother shopping, otherwise I might've been able to play in about 24-25 hours as well.
Still, might be that I'm available in about 27 hours from now, but I can make no promises.

So might be better to aim for tomorrow, got it. :salute:

As I said, I have to take my mother shopping, but we might be finished with that in good time, meaning I might be able to play at around 10-11 CET (25-26 hours from now). You're 7 hours ahead of that, right? If so, that'd be 5-6 pm your time?

You know me, I'm always on Steam. If you see me, just drop a PM for BB. And leave a link to good hentai. Preferably about rape.

"Good" hentai? Is that not an oxymoron?

Being a bland and boring Dane, I know next to nothing of hentai, so I guess you're out of luck there. :troll:

I suppose I should wait for Jarlfrank's next epic novel installment.
But I disagree.

Nice stuff, will be following, I want to see that Ogre in action!

I tried my hand at BB but I don't know the rules and was too drunk to figure them out well enough or something and didn't get a chance to understand the strategy at all. Good to follow some games before I try it again. Need to get a better feel for the odds of shit failing and causing a turnover for one.

Looks like some of your upcoming opponents suffered a few casualties already? Maybe it's nothing long term, one death for The Banned though, important player or just cannon fodder?

GL!

I played a training match against RK, he had a low-skilled human team, and I had a low-skilled (only a single skillup, mighty blow on a blitzer) orc team.
T'was rather uninteresting, but RK effortlessly outplayed me and won 2-0 (or was it 3-0?). Of most note was that I was completely unable to injure any of his humans, and in turn he did a -1ag injury to one of my blitzers.

Looking forward to his match against chaos. :salute:

Due to the match being delayed - not entirely my fault since I've been PM-ing the guy on steam with no luck, I've decided to do a small FREE side-DLC to flesh out the thread a bit.

It's not the Knights of Codexia, though but don't worry, it's still featuring the ever-lovable human.

Welcome back folks, and thanks for joining us in this Codex MCA Cup competition coming to its last few match days as the top 3 teams are vying for those precious points. Today's two teams feature Redknights (Human) and Beerfags (Norse). An interesting contrast with Knights preferring for high TV roster, and loaded dice. While Beerfags prefer to trim down the Team RRs to keep the TV down.

Humans are as you say 'the half-empty/full glass' of the Blood Bowl teams. Not being a specialist - they were blamed for some sad attempts of other races' play styles mimicry whether it's bash or dodge or passes - they can do it. Just don't expect them to pull it off all the time.

Norse in contrast is a slightly more bashier team - they throw away armor for block, and block and more block. Plus frenzied Werewolves that are stronger than an average man - with a Yhetee capable of spreadng an aura of disturbing appearance, forcing passing errors, even if they're lying on the ground.

02.jpg

Beautiful day for Bloodbowl as the team takes to the field. The Knights are mid table, with ambitions to get top four finish - while Beerfags wants to stay top in the league. Knights having lost 3 out of 8 games so far - while Fags have only drawn 1 and lost 1. The pressure is on for both teams to grab the win as this could decide the title.

03.jpg

Quiet grudge on the field as both coaches refuses to give away their game plan during the pre-match conference. But cynics have pointed out the bloated TV of the Knights have been quite 'uncharacteristic.' But their play on the last game was anything but. A 4-1 rout of Halfling sounds 'feasible' on paper, but the first turn's death of a tree and an injury of another one is anything but normal. Expect the unexpected on today's match as Beerfags win the coin toss and chose to receive. With a Star Yhetee hired with the inducement, shit is gonna get real.

04.jpg

Knights set up formation and whoa....what is this? They're going straight to the grind~! No catchers on the starters, all blitzers, linos and ogre with the rookie thrower on the field. What's it gonna be...?

05.jpg

Crowd cheers as the game kicks off!

06.jpg

A short kick! Just one punt away from the mid line as the Beerfags gets a quick snap and adjust their positioning by 1 tile!

07.jpg

And here comes the Line of Slaughter!

08.jpg

Robo Ky, the Blodger Guardian goes down, but not injured.

09.jpg

Testament, Blitzer gets pushed back as well!

10.jpg

Franz the lino wasn't so lucky and eats a stun.

11.jpg

Hob the rookie lino thinks he dodged a bullet when he got pushed back...

12.jpg

But the werewolf frenzied attack nails him hard and BROKE HIS ARM! The knights are down one man!

13.jpg

Unnravor, the star runner of the Norse team makes a run unchecked, waiting for that oncoming pass...

14.jpg

More line shenanigans as Sol Badguy the ogre gets pushed - so many guards and frenzy out there today.

15.jpg

16.jpg

Anji Mito gets pushed back. The Norse isn't done yet..

17.jpg

Oh wow, a knocked out lino! Davion was lucky to escape injury - that Claw must've hurt! The knights, two down in the first drive! A very rough start.

18.jpg

Turn ends as the Fags get the ball with no problems. Knights will have to make a good play now...

19.jpg

Eomund the rookie thrower with a niggling injury marks the lone runner...

20.jpg

Ky 'The Killer' Kiske starts his blitzing! Will we see his trademark piling on move that claims so many stunty lives today?

21.jpg

Oh DEAR! He failed to slip out! The crowd boos as the Knights fuck up their first real move of the game!

22.jpg

It's a turn over!
Hang on tight folks, we'll be back after the following messages from our sponsor!

02 - You too?

And we're back, just in time as the Norse starts a blitz on the lone marker!

01.jpg

02.jpg

Down, but not out.

03.jpg

Looks like one of the Yhetee succumbed to the animal instincts...

04.jpg

Leader roll used to keep him in play.

05.jpg

Only gets a push - but he's got frenzy -

06.jpg

And on the second try...

07.jpg

Down! The ogre retaliates with a good Block! Knights saved by it!

08.jpg

Testament takes down a Norse lino but no injury - but it frees Teef the Ugly to help mark the runner.

09.jpg

Giving, Ky, the assist that he needs...

10.jpg

11.jpg

Just a push, as Unnvaror side steps away out of trouble.

12.jpg

While it's the ogre turn to go bone-head, a reroll was spent, but nothing going.

13.jpg

Robo Ky, having no choice but to dodge out - does it successfully...

14.jpg

Eisore the lino wasn't so lucky.

15.jpg

Nice tackle. Turn over!

17.jpg

Norse takes the ball to the left field...

18.jpg

Another wild animal on the Yhetee. It ain't going nowhere.

19.jpg

But down goes Eomund, his niggling injury making it worse - knocking him out of this drive.

20.jpg

Unnvaror tries to block Ky - but has to reroll to recover from a down. That's two reroll spent of 3 as their turn is over. Exciting high stakes opening play we have here... stay tuned!

03 - A rock wrapped in paper

Knight's turn - Teef repositions - giving that assist.

01.jpg

02.jpg

Try as Robo Ky might, Unnrvaror is a stubborn sonuvabitch and stayed upright. Even when a reroll was spent.

03.jpg

Nothing going, another block. Franz the lino, to try again...

04.jpg

And scores an injury! Smashed hip! That's gotta hurt his mobility! Not to mention him missing the next game. No apothecary called down, Norse play on.

05.jpg

Ky can't make things happen. Nothing going, the Knights will have to apply pressure on the ball if they want to make Norse not delay the touchdown. With everyone else in marking duty and not wanting to dodge without reroll, Sol gets to blitz. A rarity.

06.jpg

aj.png

07.jpg

WHAT POWER!

08.jpg

That's two players down! Turn ends! Norse is gonna have to deal with the ogre quickly.

09.jpg

Yhetee repositions...

10.jpg

Dauntless block failed a roll but got a both down result - last reroll burned - and down Sol Badguy goes...

11.jpg

Threat neutralized, now the other Yhetee can start hitting linos...

12.jpg

But there's another twist to that tale...

aj.png

13.jpg

Eisore, with a stunning fist ! TURN OVER!

Robo Ky, tries again -

14.jpg

aj.png

15.jpg

OUCH! Unnravor - badly hurt! Knights laying it out - Norse dangerously close to being severely undermanned for this drive.

16.jpg

17.jpg

Ky only manages a push.

18.jpg

Meanwhile the line skirmish is going to the Knights - several take-downs occured.

19.jpg

Yhetee, Line Norse, and Werewolf all laid down and vulnerable.

20.jpg

Franz gets in positions this could be a fouling setup... either for the Yhetee or the Werewolf...

21.jpg

Sol gets up, but doesn't move.

22.jpg

Teef with the blitz!

23.jpg

Just a push. Is that it for this turn?

24.jpg

NO!

aj.png

25.jpg

THE WOLF IS KNOCKED OUT! Norse are down another player! Shit got even more real!
HANG ON FOR A QUICK BREAK FOLKS! WE'LL BE BACK! YOU KNOW I WILL!

04 - Dangerzone

01.jpg

Beerfags pushes left as the ball runner is free -

02.jpg

Yhetee with a stunning blow on Badguy.

03.jpg

Will the Norse delay the TD or score early? The injury is starting to pile up..

04.jpg

Robo Ky with a turn-ending tackle as Finn fails to slip away.

05.jpg

Anji Mito Blitzes! Where is he going?!

aj.png

06.jpg

Gets only a push - REROLL!

07.jpg

08.jpg

Only a block! Tense! That ball could've gone out of bounds if he succeeded.

09.jpg

The rest of the Knights aren't even nearby to support him...

10.jpg

Oh boy, looks like there's a party in the Finn's mouth...

11.jpg

And everyone is invited... :smug:

12.jpg

Oh, the humanity!

aj.png

13.jpg

14.jpg

He's finn-ished for this drive. Turn over.

15.jpg

Blitz! They're going to try and free the ball!

16.jpg

Anji gets pushed aside, Beerfag's ball is free!

17.jpg

No delay?

18.jpg

Touchdown!

19.jpg

1 - 0 for the Beerfags! Knights coach still keeping his composure - there's still time. But how about that? A short kick - a botched dodge, a play that largely ignored the ball - rerolls spent on 'star blocks' and multi-gang fouls galore - leading to injuries and knock outs. And a sudden solo blitz - burning the final reroll - forcing the TD to be executed a turn earlier- it's almost as if everything is planned by the Knights up to this point. Now let's see if they can execute the next phase.

20.jpg

Whoa, where are the line man?

21.jpg

Chipp Zanuff, Zappa, both veteran catchers are in the game, paired up with two rookie ones ... Otto and Tristan. Are they going to go for speed runs or a long bomb against two disturbing presences?

22.jpg

Looks like it's ready.

23.jpg

Kick off!

24.jpg

Out of bounds, Hans gets the ball!

25.jpg

Tristan sallies forth!

26.jpg

Zappa gets into the danger zone. Two receivers are already on TD range.

27.jpg

Killer Ky with the blitz.

28.jpg

Sigur tries dodge - but Ky's tackle catches him..

29.jpg

Stuns!

30.jpg

Chipp Zanuff - goes to swap field ... This is funny, are they giving up on the left channel?

31.jpg

32.jpg

While rookie catcher, Ottu goes left -

33.jpg

Robo Ky with a dodge.

34.jpg

Anji Mito goes left!

35.jpg

Only Badguy left on the center -

36.jpg

Pushes the line man moves one tile up!

37.jpg

Hans, the trigger man - what are his options as the turn ends...

38.jpg

Beerfags have to stop the receivers and get that disturbing presence spread better.

39.jpg

Ky goes down, but no injury.

40.jpg

A blitz on the rookie catcher!

41.jpg

Only gets a push!

42.jpg

On the other side, Otto dodges - and stays on his feet.

43.jpg

Sol Badguy eats a claw sandwich and goes down.

44.jpg

The other Yhetee succeeded in repositioning himself, covering the right receiving options with its disturbing presence.

45.jpg

This is gonna be tough - a -1 penalty to catches made in this area - and tight marking ... Knights will have to make a hole somewhere...

46.jpg

Meanwhile, Anji gets pushed to the line, limiting the receiving option on the left...

Hans with a very hard choice to make in the next two turns...

47.jpg
