Hmm, so everyone getting completely plastered and getting Whitewolf a Dwarven lap-dance the night morning before a game turns out to be a bad idea after all. Heh, who knew?

So. It is my turn to be broken.
xeno.jpg
The apothecary cannot restore your body fully. I am afraid you will have to bear the future consequences...
ww.jpg
I KNOW. If only SOMEONE did not FAIL a pick-up...
azi.jpg
I take full blame.
none.jpg
With you and Gondolin injured, we will have to double our efforts on the next match.
jae.jpg
A tall order, Brother None. We were heavily reliant on Whitewolf's strength in the past. We may have to take a journeymen with us, too.
stab.jpg
That doesn't mean we are giving up, are we?
hum.jpg
Not on my watch, stabby. Prepare for the next match, Brothers. We have a dark foe to vanquish.

01.jpg

Dark Elves, a brutal team that combines finesse and melee abilities. Unlike other elven team, Dark Elves may start with four blitzers and has access to Witch Elves (Starts with Frenzy). This could lead to several dangerous plays where the opposition may get mercilessly crowd pushed. And if the melee game does not work out, they can still play the passing game much better than the humans, albeit with lesser starting skills to pull it off. The other least used option is the Assassin, a lightly armored player who can forgo a blocking move and go for a stab, directly hitting the opponent's armor.

02.jpg

Can the Knights hope to match this combination of finesse and power with just 2 Blitzers on their starting line-up?

03.jpg

The cocky dark elves go for a kick.

04.jpg

05.jpg

Dangerous start.

06.jpg

07.jpg

eklektyk bears the brunt of the first blitz.

08.jpg

Ball lands near the two throwers. Knights will clear a path.

09.jpg

Angelo and Azira can squeeze past the right channel.

17.jpg

LundB to dodge out as well and add the player count to 4 in the opposing field...

18.jpg

19.jpg

Turn over.

20.jpg

Ninjas commence marking our receivers.

21.jpg

Humpalekka gets blitzed. Survives the fall.

22.jpg

But that leaves Xenomorph exposed. The Blitzer stops in front of him. Turnover.

23.jpg

Undeterred, Angelo with a one die block to bring down a nearby marker.

24.jpg

Jaedar will release Azira...

25.jpg

Gets the job done. LundB to mark the fallen players.

26.jpg

All that grinding wore out WW's core and as a result he just could not dodge that tackle. Also way to dump on white in order to distract from your failings Stabby.

Pre-Season 10 - Part 3

A really quick scoring affair in this game as each side suffered no injuries and more focused on finesse plays rather than brute force. Both sides restarting the kickoff with 11 men.

This is an opportunity we cannot squander. Xeno, get in position to receive the ball.

03.jpg

Kicking it short..

04.jpg

05.jpg

The fans are really behind the Knights as they look to claim a victory from the last pre-season match!

06.jpg

A straightforward catch from the elf lineman...no problem.

07.jpg

LundB gets pushed back.

08.jpg

All the Knights linemen are down.

09.jpg

Dark Elves emulating the wing play of the Knights?
Suddenly, the sky turns red.

10.jpg

jae.jpg
INCOMING!

A fireball hits the Knights squarely at the center. Few fell under the inferno.

11.jpg

stabby gets knocked out from the blast. Turnover.

15.jpg

Brother None with a difficult task....

17.jpg

Failed! Turnover.

18.jpg

Azira, a lone target in the danger zone!

19.jpg

Gets knocked out! The ball goes to the right -

20.jpg

A failed catch by the elves!

21.jpg

22.jpg

Angelo shall attempt the difficult task... we need to pressure them to score early.

23.jpg

Reroll!

24.jpg

Failed! Turnover!

25.jpg

Humpalekka gets pushed back.

26.jpg

A blitz saw Angelo gets pushed back from the ball, but the Elves are unwilling to risk a pick up. Turn over.

27.jpg

Humpalekka with a difficult task...

28.jpg

Failed.

29.jpg

Looks like they're gonna score.

30.jpg

No, delayed for a turn. The elves are toying with their prey.

31.jpg

Brother None loses out in one on one.

32.jpg

Not the case for Hellraiser, ending the elves turn with a nice counterpunch.

33.jpg

Not much of an option. But we will keep pushing them to score.

34.jpg

Failed, as expected.

35.jpg

Jaedar, who makes progress on the left field, gets double teamed, but stands firm.

36.jpg

Xenomorph too, refuses to give ground.

37.jpg

The elves still taunting with the ball.

38.jpg

Brother None finally getting above his opponent and punches!

39.jpg

He gets into a receiving position - yes, we're not giving up on the ball. Not ever.

40.jpg

41.jpg

Hellraiser clears a path for Jaedar! Still needs Xeno to do his part...

42.jpg

Reroll!

49.jpg

Humpalekka will try to provide assistance...

50.jpg

Nope. Turnover. Jaedar, the center of attention.

51.jpg

He knew what was coming.

52.jpg

First block! Just a push! Here comes a second one!

54.jpg

55.jpg

The crowd chanting his name - will he survive this onslaught?!

56.jpg

Oh gawd, it's heavan.

57.jpg

3 attempts - and none takes him down!
This sets an example for Angelo, who forces the elves to spend their final reroll.

58.jpg

59.jpg

Angelo stunned. As another elf gets in position behind Jaedar to complete the encirclement..

60.jpg

But smashed his own collar bone as he failed the go for it! Turn over! Jaedar carving his own legend in Whitewolf's absence.

61.jpg

There's only one path the Jaedar want to take...and that is Victory.

62.jpg

63.jpg

A heartbreak as the Super Swede loses his dodging streak finally - and gets brought down, the ball in the danger zone! Turn over!

64.jpg

DRAMA! THE ELVES FAILED A PICK UP!

65.jpg

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOW?!

jae.jpg
Xeno...GO!

Jaedar and Azira both rolls a normal.

You sure went emo on us when WW went down, RK,

He had no reason to be injured. I was blinded by the supposedly easy SPP from throw completion that I forgot there's still a game underway.
The continued apologies from the opposition coach during the match didn't help.
An expensive lesson. But we've reached the finish line. Once the two skill ups are decided - I'll trim the TV - and submit for a week long break from action.

It was an honor, guys.

:salute:

Let's do a Gamebanshee pool and nominate the true Team MVP to culminate our 10 games completion.

Blodging is very annoying, unless you have a dwarven team. All those juicy tackles. :smug:

Since your 10 matches are done, I think I'll try to find someone else to maim in the feeder league. Would be awesome if I could bludgeon one of your future opponents some. :troll:

Hey guys, I've done the level ups.
1.jpg

2.jpg

At first, I wanted Jaedar to go Frenzy so we have 2 Frenzy options on the field - but common sense dictates guard would be more situationally invaluable.
Azira too, was supposed to adopt the 'distance is my armor' philosophy and went 'Sure Feet' to keep spamming that GFI - but I decided to go for the safety Block instead. Since it can still be used offensively.

And more good news! No TV Trimming Needed!

3.jpg

Exactly 400 TV is gained from our 10 matches foray. That's just so awesome. I can't imagine how it could be better planned!
Anyways, there's also the possibility of getting that ONE LAST LEVEL UP for additional 20 TV gain and just cut the Apoth....but I won't risk it.

Awesome finish. :salute:

Meanwhile, in F13...

Guard and block are generally "boring" skills, in that you don't see their effect in as spectacular ways as frenzy, dirty player, mighty blow and so forth. But they're the skills that win games by keeping your dudes upright and securing you tons of 2-die blocks.

The real pain is determining when to get block and when to get MB on a dark elf team, since the skills are so crucial on their blitzers and witches but only available on doubles. I miss my LRB4 dark elf team - legion of everblight - that had 3 St4 blitzers, 4x mighty blow (2 on blitzers, 2 on witches) and 6x guard. They were like Ag4 orks.

Pretty awesome, RK. And man, you have hella cash. Should be fun to suddenly spring an ogre on people.

Guard is the boringest skill but also so very useful. Still, more useful for linemen than blitzers, no?

Also man, I know it's been noted before, but RK sure does love dodging. I am always very wary of dodging around too much, but then again, I prefer bashy teams. RK is a tactical genius :salute:

Enjoying it so far, but now for THE REAL SEASON.

Blitzers get it on normals. Linemen on doubles. You can't rely on enough linos getting it (and if they do, it'll cost more TV). Also, there are lots of dwarves in RKs bracket and their linemen can get it on normals. If you go up against them hopelessly outmatched in the guard department, you'll never be able to get the 2-dice blocks necessary to crack open their cage.

Eagerly looking forward to the knights acquiring an ogre a dreadnaught. Let's see if RK knows how to manage bone head rolls appease the machine spirit.

Here, obviously
This is awesome.

I'm confused, though. Your opponent said that he "killed" Whitewolf when he was just injured. Did he just not see the injury, or is "Damaged Back" just as bad? I looked it up, and it doesn't seem like the character is necessarily ruined. Can he not still be the wrecking ball that he was with just an increased chance of subsequent injury? I know next to nothing about Blood Bowl, though, so my ignorance is immense.

Remember RK-chan -- Once you get an Ogre, you don't have to use it every turn. If it's currently not bone-headed and can make up part of a cage/mark some opponents where it's standing, it's not always worth moving it and risking losing your tackle zones. Also, as with dodges and moving the ball, moving the ogre shouldn't be one of the first actions you take, as an unlucky dice roll with 50% chance of RR working can wreck your plans.

Finally, getting that first skill on your big guy makes him way, way more useful. Guard (on normal) means he can do stuff without rolling dice at all. Block (doubles) means he's going to be way safer to kill stuff with. To ease him into that first skill, it's usually worth setting up blocks for him with +2 assists for a 3-dice block if you can spare the manpower. It goes without saying that the ogre shouldn't use your blitz action unless he absolutely has to. It *really* sucks to lose that.

I've seen a LOT of new coaches treat their big guy as if he was a ST5 blitzer and their team failing hilariously as a result.
