It's the Ubisoft thing. They have been giving away games every month and will be doing so until december, I think. You will need uplay to play it.

Nah, it's client is actually the fastest one of the whole bunch.

I concur, Uplay is the least problematic one among major 3. I always use it offline without any problems so far.
Meanwhile I have two legit passwords for my Origin account  You can't explain this shit.

Now to wait till it will be released, and then wait for a shitty PC port. The original was quite decent on PC though.

Yes, yes, UPlay and Origin got improved but so what?
Installing dozen of clients (muh monopoly/cash saved) to play games is still dumb.
PS. I got more problems with Steam than other clients (Uplay, Origin, GfWL) combined.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is almost definitely in development
UPDATE: Ubisoft confirms. It's finally happening!

UPDATE 6th October 2016: Ubisoft has confirmed Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in development.

After a number of teaser images were released by series chief developer Michel Ancel, publisher Ubisoft has used the Beyond Good & Evil Facebook page to confirm the long-awaited sequel is finally in the works.

"If you've been waiting for news about BG&E... well, here you go! We are delighted to confirm that Michel Ancel is currently working with the Ubisoft Montpellier Studio on a new Beyond Good & Evil game," reads the message.

Here's hoping it actually happens this time.

ORIGINAL STORY 4th October 2016: Beyond Good & Evil developer Michel Ancel recentlyteased a couple of images suggesting that the long-awaited sequel to his cult-classic 2003 adventure game may actually see the light of day. Now Ancel has made it painstakingly clear that the game is being worked on - though it's only in pre-production.

"Endangered species - now saved - Game in pre-production - Stay tuned!" the Rayman creator teased on Instagram along with the following image of a familiar Rastafarian rhino mechanic:

Mammagoing where no rhino has gone before.

When pressed for info about what these pics are from, Ubisoft offered Eurogamer the following statement:

"Michel is currently sharing his time between Ubisoft and Wild Sheep studios. The artwork he posted is from the game he's currently working on at Ubisoft. We don't have anything further to share at this stage."

Now whatever could this mystery game be?

Ancel has been vocal about his desire to make Beyond Good & Evil 2 for some time now. A pre-rendered CGI trailer was shown way back in 2008 (before The Last Guardian was even announced!), but in 2013 Ancel told us that his vision for the project was too big for the tech of 2008. It sounds like it might have been too big for the tech of 2013 too, for that matter, as it's three years later and the project hasn't gelled beyond pre-production at this point.

Still, confirmation that Ancel is collaborating with Ubisoft on another game with anthropomorphised sharks, pigs and rhinos should excite fans.

Now who wants to place bets on what's coming out first: Beyond Good & Evil 2 or Half-Life 3?

I have very good memories of BG&E but i don't remeber that much really. Mostly the music, and art style i think. Its one of those games i remember very fondly, like Grim Fandango, except GF i played countless times.

how can one play an adventure game multiple times?

If the only thing you can enjoy in a game like GF is the puzzles, i feel sorry for you.

Have you never watched a film multiple times? Listened to music several times? Sometimes people just like to experience something again. I could argue that playing an adventure game for a second time is better because you can appriciate the story and the art more.

sometimes listening/watching/playing linear stuff for multiple times is not because the media changed, but because YOU changed. you might read a poem when you're 15 years old and try to understand and conclude the meaning. you remember it. 10 years later, 25 years old you might read it again after putting it down for a decade. the meaning you extract will probably much much different

Report: New Beyond Good & Evil To Be a 2018 Semi-Reboot, Not Full Sequel
by Laura Dale | Oct 17, 2016 | featured, News | 0 comments

In the wake of the news that a new Beyond Good & Evil game is in pre-development at Ubisoft with Michel Ancel heading up the project, Let’s Play Video Games has learned of a few details regarding the planned direction of the much-anticipated new entry in the franchise.

As many have noted since Ancel’s Instagram reveal for the game, neither Ubisoft or Ancel are referring to the game as Beyond Good & Evil 2. Lets Play Video Games has been informed by a source familiar with negotiations on the project that the game is planned to be more of a standalone reboot than a traditional sequel.

According to our source, the currently planned direction for the game is that it will partially retell Jade’s origin tale from Beyond Good & Evil, flesh out Peyj’s backstory, then continue to extrapolate on the ending of the original game. The intention is that players who have not played the original will be able to jump into the new game, which will feature a subtitle rather than a number at the end of its title, and understand both who Jade is and what drives Pey’j. It also seeks to provide closure to fans of the original wondering what the cliffhanger at the end meant for the series’ ongoing plot.

While many existing fans of the series may be upset about the new game not being a direct sequel, the idea of modernising the original tale and fleshing out the world while continuing the story beyond where it once ended offers the series a better chance of an ongoing life than it previously had.

Additionally, we have learned from a separate source that there are plans for a new CG trailer for the game to be shown alongside the NX reveal. Much like the 2008 trailer, this is planned to be a tone piece rather than a plot or gameplay reveal, and will be used to announce its NX exclusivity. The game is currently aiming for a Summer 2018 release window, according to sources at Ubisoft.

So, are you upset at the concept of the new Beyond Good & Evil being more of a reboot than a sequel? Let us know in the comments below.

and will be used to announce its NX exclusivity.
