Howard: Based on the feedback I’ve seen, most people are pissed off that it ends, not the ‘ending’ itself. Maybe that’s one and the same, I don’t know. That’s another thing we’re changing in DLC3 [downloadable content #3, "Broken Steel"]. We really underestimated how many people would want to keep playing, so that’s probably the last time we’ll do something like that.

Man that guy is good at dodging questions.

Not really, it's just that no one will call him on that and insist that he addresses the point of the question.

As good as “Fallout 3″ is — I’ve invested more than 65 hours! — it wasn’t a perfect game, a statement even “Fallout 3″ executive producer Todd Howard would agree with,

Quick, someone, get a mop.

Also, what's the bet that DLC3 will simply give you a MacGuffin to bypass the radiation so nobody has to die?

A Deus Ex Machina to bypass the original Deus Ex Machina.

You'll be able to find a secret manual that explains that water can be purified from radiation by simply being filtered through earth.

Only people who already know it.

I read something that implied that the only way to continue playing was to let the girl die, but now that I think about it that seems too lazy even for Bethesda's standards.

But then you have also to purify earth. And how do you do that? By being filtered through more earth?

You purify the irradiated dirt through clean water which you initally purified through dirt. Repeat cycle. The system is fool proof.

Yep, these game journalists need to grow balls.

I'd love to see VD interview Howard.

Criticism #3: V.A.T.S. is boring once you’re accurate enough to head shot everyone

Howard: Depends on what you find entertaining. I like to blow people’s heads off, so, well, it never got old for me.

VD: I've had enough of your snide insinuations. :falconpunch:

Where do you get all clean water from? And how do you deal with the clean water after it's irradiated by cleaning the dirt?

You get the clean water by refining it through the dirt which has been cleaned by the refined water of course. Once the water has been irradiated by the dirt, you can clean it by putting it back through the now clean dirt.

Got it?

The question is where you get the clean earth from. The answer: you don't need clean earth. You just need earth that is not so radiated that it's saturated thus making it lose its filter qualities.
In a generally highly radiated, depopulated environment finding a disposal area for radiated earth isn't as much of a problem as it would be in our society.

Why do so many game journalists feel the need to let us know how much they loved Fallout 3 and how many hours they played it?
