Incline Best Turn Based RPG With 5-8+ Units/Characters That Has A Strong Affliction/DoT Build Option

So I've played GW1 which while not TBS has lots of characters + a half decent set of stacking/synergizing Afflictions and DoTs. I'd like something 5-10x more expansive. Ideally singple player, and obvious TBRPG not ARPG. I've gotten a recommendation for Etrian Odyssey but that seems to be comparable to GW1 or maybe 2x-3x more expansive at best.

I'd prefer not to have tabletop inspired classes or hardcoded classes generally. I'd like lots of status effects like bleed/burn/acid that can be followed up by infection, festering, rot, corruption, poison, taint, etc.

Obviously this is a very specific request but I was hoping the Codex would be more useful than reddit or the watch or various steam groups.

Please don't suggest Wizardry 8. It meets a few of my requirements but not the key ones. The debuff system is less good than GW and based on my reading also less good than EO. Someone recommended Crystal Project but their affliction/DoT options appear to be a bit limited.

Divinity Original Sin (party of 4 only, though)
I think I've only played Divine Divinity? What class has good afflictions or DoTs?
Original Sin has a classless character system, aside from choosing a class "template" at the start (which is optional, you can build your characters from scratch, too).

I played it a few years ago, so can't remember specific abilities, but the game is DoT/status affliction galore. Bleeds, poison, burning, etc. The combat is practically build around it.

It's turn-based and single-player like you asked. Not Diablo-like combat from Divine Divinity.

That is relatively close. Some of the status afflictions are tabletop style trash but some are pretty cool. Not quite as much stacking as I like. Maybe I'll see if I lost my copy of this when the gamestop app closed or if I still have it.

I'm actually trying to think of some CRPGs that feature DOTs prominently, but the only thing that comes to mind is Wizardry 8.
If you're willing to drop the multiple characters and TB requirements Grim Dawn has some fun DOT builds.

If I play one more second of Grim Dawn I will become an aetherial. I prefer pet classes but I've played others. Grim Damn is unfortunately quite fast since most enemies are chaff. Even on veteran or something.

I have modded Grim Dawn extensively for pet stuff and I do love it, though. Steam insists I've only played it 400 hours almost exactly but I suspect they can't track time with the asset manager for modding.

On the one hand I hate Lhynn, for reasons I can't remember from years ago and I also hate comptemporary settings. But on the other hand this is definitely the closest match I've ever seen. 85% match maybe? Please god let there be something better. Don't make me buy this weeb shit. Someone save me please... I'm begging you...

I have never regretted a brofist more in my life but no one so far across many forums and subreddits and Twitter has given me anything better than this.

Grimoire, maybe?

Heralds of the Winged Exemplar has some great DoT spells, and items that duplicate spells, such as firestorm and toxic cloud. I like the way these are implemented as in each successive round, the spell loses a percentage of its potency. And the way encounters are set up with multiple rows of enemies, it is viable to cast different cloud spells on groups of monsters throughout a battle.
