Thought it would be mediocre, at worst simply bad...but it really one of a kind.
Maybe the absolute worst game ever made, period, at least of AAA releases last couple decades...

Only gave it a try because it made the 100 best games list here...but really belongs on a 100 worst games list, with BG3 near the top.
TBH, didn't play it to completion, quit very early, after a scene of two monsters butt-f***ing in a barn...seriously Larian, you know kids play this game?!?

It's not just the (gay, furry) pornography, the game makes no sense, Larian just threw in a bunch of s**t from the D&D universe with no
rhyme or reason...Mind Flayers! Dragons! Githyankis! Trip through Hell Itself Attacked by Demons! That's just the prelude, before you even start playing....
And the prelude is the high point, it gets steadily worse as you advance...

The only good/accurate thing about the Codex top 100 review was describing the game as a 'freakshow'...and perhaps the reviewer is
correct that this is the best of Larian's recent games, can't say I haven't played the 'DOS' series, though if they are worse than this they must be pretty bad indeed!

Also the game is horribly balanced, for instance there is one conversation which requires passing *4* quick consecutive dice rolls, lose just one and Game Over.
Fun!

And this piece of s**t sold what, 10 trillion copies, more than any other RPG ever made?
People truly have terrible taste in games...

Guess we can look forward to some really bad RPGs playing copycat next few years...

Never played Oblivion.
BG3 much worse than F3 though.
F3 was just boring. BG3 is obscene and borderline unplayable.
One thing they do have in common is that they both beat you over the head with pro-immigration/refugee propaganda...

Thinking back to BG 1 and 2, how lucky I was to grow up in the 90s when RPGs were harmless neo-Tolkien pastimes for Nerds. Now they are bizarre hybrids of sick hardcore porn and moronic political indoctrination. BG3 is utterly vile and so is Larian, I hope Belgium gets overrun by Congolese savages very soon, at least they have some primitive morality not to subject children to such garbage...

I think they lie about sales figures. Our game sold 20 zillion copies in a day! Click here to be part of the totally real movement.

Fun!
And yet the original Baldur's Gate 3 still has far better gameplay than BG1&2. :smug:

Baldur's Gate 2 was also a mash of themes, including mind flayers, drows, dragons, githyanki, demons (with you going to the literal Hell), elves, druids, underwater city, powerful creatures (such as the Observer or the Lich) residing underneath the city of Amn, etc... It was simply a vertical slice of the setting. Looks like Baldur's Gate 3 was taking full advantage of that.

TBH, didn't play it to completion, quit very early, after a scene of two monsters butt-f***ing in a barn...seriously Larian, you know kids play this game?!?
Baldur's Gate 3 is rated by PEGI at 18 and above, and by the ESRB at a Mature 17+. So, yeah, you probably shouldn't be giving this game to kids. That said, it is said the game asks you at the start if you want to turn off nudity, so you can be a responsible parent and set the game up first.

Never played Oblivion.

:what:

Where did you come from? Whose sleeper alt are you?
