uck, this is a mockery of an rpg. This is all the levelling in this game. Just chose one of those two buttons and chose.
As others have discussed, welcome to fifth edition.
I always knew that it was shit, but didn't expect it to be that much shit lol. Fuck i can't even distribute skill points like other ones. This is just press accept and move on shit.
You’re missing the customize options on the right that you can scroll through and select the subclass and abilities/spells if you want.

The default options are for normies who after years of Skyrim probably have a hard time with basic math.

Still, it’s pretty basic compared to pathfinder.

I am not missing it,it is fucking two buttons choice. That is no levelling customization lol.

Characters are....ohh gods,it is one character really, the one of a annoying and bitchy 13 year old slut
I watched Cohh play it and it's not really that, it's that all characters basically say same thing but differently. "Need healer" "Remove tadpole" "I had a dream" etc. +primitive like/dislike. Because they are not real companions with any kind of chemistry or agenda, they are just premades for the player to play. Add on this full voice acting, and there is barely anything there in terms of companions at all. Bioware actually looks good in comparison.

They are more like:
You move a puppy out of your path with your leg.

X disapproves, you shouldn't have kicked it like that, you should have drown it

Y disapproves, you shouldn't have kicked it like that,we need healer, just throw it in the fire

z disapproves, you shouldn't have kicked it like that,we could have talked to it before kicking it

And i am all

Thing is, NPCs are even worse. I can't put my finger on Larian writing, because I can't understand the qualities of it being bad. It's not BG1 long npc rants or chicken transformations, or innocently amateur companions where you begin to expect cheesy writing. It's not Gaider drama. It's not POE lore dumps. It's just absolutely random and strange. Like that quest with druid, snake and tielfing child from village of innocent tieflings (yes, there's is... a village of innocent refugee tieflings. after you fall from nautiloid. it's near druids with bears.). There are 2 difficult checks, bad druid lady, fail - kid dies, and nobody does anything (although you can just attack before it). And everyone behaves dramatically, yet it all looks comically bad.

It's all just complete nonsense.

Wait :M, I know what it reminds me of.
It reminds me of Fallout 4!

Member how in Fallout 4 they tried to do some serious writing but it was still Bethesda and shit? That's exactly it.

You don't want that, she is insufferable. She will be nagging you about shit while fucking her in the ass lol.

If she can talk then you're not doing it with enough GUSTO.

We are not talking about a normal woman here,my lovely walking xp boost. She a sassy, bossy, feisty queen yo!

I am generally a companion's guy that fucks every woman possible in those types of games. This is the first time in my life, where i wanted for the game to have a generate companion options!!!

And afaik, they have 7 writers. I have called them the 7-man cuck-squad before and they even acknowledged that (and were very proud of the name) on Twitter.
Holy fuck you were not lying:

Tells me everything that they consider it an honor.

The greater lore is that even local fatman in trenchcoat, Jim FUCKING Sterling, knows of the RPG Codex's hideous existence going by the replies there.

This also explains why the Codex runs agonizingly slow at random times. His fatness weighs the poor servers down.

And I hear the guy that runs the daily stormer loves rpgs and is probably a member here as well.

RPGs: bringing neo Nazis and commie cucks together for almost 20 years now.

The worst part is that they are all voice acted....it is a massive money pit. I have talked with 25 people and only 3 of them had actual information or a quest.

Again, no, you can select spells and feats. Just not many.

But hey, you’re level 3, what do you expect? Remember BG2? BG1? Most times you were lucky to get two buttons as a fighter.

Thing is, BG/bioware is huge about camaraderie (and waifus) and killing xvarts together with daggers +1, so with companions like that, they basically fail instantly as any bioware wannabe.

The rest of the game looks like a casual rpg with casual version of D&D with little options and pretty boring combat - "my first baby dnd gaem", and I doubt throwing boots with mage hand would save it.

Casuals will love it and it will sell milliard of copies, I'm sure.

Dog would probably be people favorite camp companion.

The worst part is that they are all voice acted....it is a massive money pit
"you see a bag on the ground"
"you see an owlbear" (game actually shows owlbear walking towards party with 3d camera)
"you find note on the ground"

CohhCarnage cheerfully smiles and claps his hands: ITS SO GOOD GUYS! ITS FULLY VOICE ACTED!!

(My favorite part was Cohh believing there's C&C for using tadpole or that there is timer from Fallout 1. :M)

I know that i can select spells lol. Calling them feats is quite the stretch mate. And yeah, the other bg games have inferior levelling mechanics, tho at least i got to chose which skill to improve with my rogue, also proficiencies.

That said, how is the camping shit, does it takes actual days away from becoming a monster or is it ok to spam it ?

Talking about if you take the pure thief path though maybe I’m misremembering. Fighters get definitely feat selection though.

It’s not complex, you check boxes for what you want. It’s not pathfinder, but it’s not two buttons either.

It's Larian game. What do you think?

Remember there is that demon pact or something in DOS2, and then you just walk into demon honcho house and beat their number bloated face with your number bloated party?

I think good way to explain Larian writing is this: it's not like just cheesy writing, heya me imoen, it's like cheesy writing written by 7 different people mashed together.

That's why it is so aggravating.

The fact that your tadpoles are somehow dormant is a story element. (And also setting a real 5 day limit would easily kill most noobs right away. It’s not like it’s your choice or fault you have a tadpole.)

Having a discussion with a friend, and we can't come to term how it works.

Skill checks in game, are they always a 1-20 roll? Can the difficulty get higher than 20? Like if the computer rolls 10, then there is a 10+ because of the difficulty of check, or is it always something between 1-20?

Don't care about noobs, kingmaker managed to do it,see no problem of being fateful to the lore. Also it could be mitigated by not having go trough so much shit before you get the worms out of you. The game selling that many EA copies just shows how popamole casualtard garbage it is.

I believe that the difficulty get subtracted by your skills. For example if you have task with difficulty of 10,but you have +3 in dex and +2 in specialization, the difficulty level becomes 5.

Having a short time limit would make casters dogshit worthless. All you'd be able to do is use cantrips.
As i said, they could make so that you get some shit happen that lets you block the worms till you find a real help later on. Running around for months while nothing happens is stupid, especially when everyone is constantly bitching about not doing it fast enough.

Yeah, I know that, but I wonder, if it ever can get higher than a 20 roll. Because the discussion we are having, is that I find it pretty silly that my dumb as rock dwarf can figure out arcana things, and he excuse that with that it's just a simple roll in the beginning of the game, and later on it will get much tougher. But I have not seen any indication on that from the time I have been playing.
