Well, what would make it a Baldur's Gate game? We need to have some kind of identifiable goalposts to know if the game scored or not.

Even if you resurrected Black Isle and put every single original member back, they still wouldn't be able to do it. Yes. There is this. Almost every dialogue I've seen is shot & reverse-shot, which basically translates in me seeing my character, which then translates in the game telling me how I'm supposed to feel. Same thing happened in the NWN and DA games, but there they had the decency of putting my char as rather than try to impose something on me.

I 100% understand not wanting Oblivion with guns as the new “fallout” a decade later, but it’s been 20 years and these goys actually expect to import their save game and continue BG2 from where they left off or what?

As far as the Baldur's Gate series, yes I think it's dumb, since Baldur's Gate 2 was a direct sequel of Baldur's Gate 1. Fallout 2 is pretty much a sequel to F1 as it follows afterward, but I take your point.

I agree that Baldur's Gate: The Illithid Menace or something would have been better, but I also don't care that much LOL.

Anyways the feel of the game is not reminiscent of Baldur's Gate at all. Shit, even those hack-n-slash PS2 games got closer to it. There is no denying that this is a Divinity:OS2 mod brought to its limits and overhauled of that TRAAAY-ASH combat system for 5E. To think of this as a worthy contender for the coveted "3" in "Baldur's Gate 3" is some zoomer shit, bruh. Story is dumb as fuck, combat is serviceable, atmosphere is flat, that Larian style cartoony garbage glistens everywhere. By the way I like how the character generator screen has "VENTURE FORTH." HAHAHA, because you must GATHER yourself before VENTURING FORTH! Swen you sly devil! Ooohohohoho! Oh yeah it's 5E so the character customization is steaming dogshit unless you are one of those MMOtards that loves to make sure you got the PERFECT nose bridge angle.

ATOM RPG "feels like" a carbon copy of Fallout 1, but it's not a direct sequel to it.

If only there wasn't a wall of fog after 100 meters. Well, maybe later maps won't have it, but there's nothing more claustrophobic than a sunny day and a wall of fog 100 meters in.

Also who in their right mind wants a follow up to Throne of Bhaal? That was a complete shitshow, start to finish. It also took a massive dump on the established lore and storyline.

Also, reminder that Baldur's Gate III: The Black Hound also was going to be 3D and not at all related to the first two games.

Some of my gripes can be blamed on 5E so I won't dwell too much on that if I can help it because I could rant and rave with a sandwich sign all day on why 5E sucks hermaphrodite dragon dick, I'm only going to focus on Larianisms. Hopefully I can review and rate the Shadowheart/Broodmama sex scene. I'm savescumming exclusively to unlock this.
