Come on, didnt devs expected this shitstorm? Of course they were. And if they were expecting this and still gave a middle finger to people they dont like, means they care little about profits from its existing fan base. That base is already small, and at least 1/4 of it consists of Eastern Europeans - poles and post-soviets who are known to be socially conservative. So they are not afraid of alienating them. Were they hoping to gain some casual minority player in? Certainly not, as Sunset proved its nearly impossible and Minsc proves that devs pay attention to all the recent developments. So, its clear to me that they rely on outside funding from bigger entities who promised them grants for social work, as they call it in my country. Dont forget that Trent is some big person in IGDA now, probably has a few connections here an there.

It's hard to track DLC owners on steam, but there isn't tons of activity on the community page.

Not sure how it's doing on GOG/Beamdog's store though.

BG:EE is in the top seller list.. (75% Sale)

The expansion is on page 4.. Behind Skyrim / Dark Souls 1 and Dying Light.. None of those games are on sale and they are still out performing SoD.

Going by sold copies of BG:EE according to Steamspy and the Dragonspear achievements, they have sold about 2000+ copies of Dragonspear on Steam. Add Beamdog and GoG to that.

It seems to be doing alright despite all of the fucking drama. It will probably need long legs to be a success though.

I don't think you can equate sold copies of BG:EE to sold copies of SoD. Again if you look at the top sellers list.
BG:EE is like third or forth place.. SoD is on page 5..

Getting contradictory claims, some people are saying it is railroaded as fuck, the combat is worse than modded BG 1, some fights with alot of dudes are just retarded, the game lacks on itemization and the writing is mediocre at best and terrible at some spots, it is the ToB of BG 1, aka, "more of the same without anything remarkable". People are making fun of the tranny because no one proved this is real incline and Beamdung track record isn't good. Care to say why those people are wrong?

It appears that having a transgendered cleric and a joke line by Minsc has greatly offended the sensibilities of some people. This has spurred these people into action, causing them to decide this is the worst game of all time and give it a zero review score on Steam, GoG and meta critic.
