Also, which is it: Does working at home have no impact on productivity, or does working at home destroy productivity? Only one can be true. Pick!

Depends on the person. The evidence shows most people can't handle it.

Even if working from home didn't affect productivity, which it can, transitioning to it was always going to pose problems and the DLC came out in october 2020 after a decision to rescope it.

So this is not cancelled yet. I am surprised. Also, is it an XBOX exclusive? If so, let it die in peace.

Gamedev cope, the coofdemic is just a convenient excuse for never releasing anything.

It's not really a cope if the entire industry did slow down because of the coof.

Industry slowed down long before then.

I hate this game because it's difficult to make fun of its title. Like Pillars of Excrement, ackackackack. Still gets me.
Apologize for disrespecting Pillars.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Avellone's May of Rage at least got some media attention, but 3 retweets on that post just about sums up how much success he's had with claiming how everything in Obsidian is falling apart.

Yep. Imagine that, people don't want to spend their entire career at one company. Chris makes it always sound line everyone is very disgruntled and whole company is about to fall to pieces. He really should start to sign his tweets with "xoxoxo Gossip Girl" at this point.
Avowed development has been an utter mess, one can independently verify that without relying on Chris tweets. But no the entire company isn't falling to pieces, it's just that one game. Grounded, Pentiment, and even Outer Worlds 2 appear to be fine.

This seems like a repeat of that other Obsidian/Microsoft RPG that got cancelled? Can't remember its name.

Stormlands has its problems, but it didn't lose its entire leadership and three narrative leads (and counting?). It's been nearly a full month since Dollarhyde quit and the position still isn't filled according to Obsidian's web site. Apparently it's a miserable job no one either wants or is qualified for.

Sure, but the coof did slow them down even more.

its fucking over avowed-bros...
It ain't over yet. The real question is whether the project will be quietly cancelled at some point or drag on for a bunch of years before it releases. I guess it depends on how determined the Obsidian is and how much Microsoft is willing to keep backing the project.
