Balancing assault rifles vs pistols is impossible if you want to stay grounded in reality. The only thing pistols are better at is concealment, which can definitely be used to some degree in videogames e.g., smuggling them into casinos in FNV.
But if you're staying grounded in reality, being hit with a bullet from either is going to put a damper on your day.
Sawyer kept the pistols and rifles ~balanced~ in New Vegas. Perfectly viable to go around at high levels with a 12.7 or a Ranger Sequoia. Of course there were situations where a rifle would be much better.

Balance in ATOM is a little funny tbh. Pistols/SMGs are overall complete garbage compared to Assault Rifles, they have worse dmg, range, and also similar or actually higher AP cost, which is hilarious.
This is the Fallout experience, though instead of small guns->big guns (optional)->energy weapons, the progression seems to be small guns->rifles->automatic weapons (assuming you finally have enough bullets in the endgame, otherwise it's a trap).

Yeah, I mostly referred to that one OP crafted junk revolver, when I said the balance is funny

Ok do you get something out of the diggers and the mutant worms??? Do you need some trait to skin them or something? Also the mutant queen dropped only meat...very disappointing.

The thing is that even submachine guns (which are governed by the same skill as pistols) are pretty bad. You can only reliably fire bursts at targets that are 3-4 tiles away at day and point blank at night. Assault rifles, on the other hand, can fire across the map...
It's a balancing thing, though, probably. Everyone's got the pistol skill in sixties while automatic weapons are like 20 by default...

Also, someone was asking about luck but I can't find the post.

Yes, LUCK is the most useless one in the System - it makes some skills go up more, it governs the crit, and that's about it. However, it's compensated by some in-game checks. From the top of my head I can remember a fight where like 10 end-game equipped soldiers surround you and you can do a luck roll which causes all of them to have a stroke, fall to the ground and die in an instant without you moving a finger, so there's that.

is that what happen with the option to pray in the barbecue?

I cant seem to find anyone who knows something about the shield of Count Roevsky in Otradnaya. Anyone?

it s a smaller rock clickable into a much bigger one. the big rock is the one next to some piled up stones. i think you'll need str 8

Crafted items being OP was an Underrail thing to make taking those skills feel worthwhile, likely the same deal here.

it would make sense if the better weapons had higher requirements, stats-wise. dex, end , str.,then pistols would be the non-combat guy/amateur in combat weapon of choice. ofc not in this that is combat heavy but it s possible in other scenarios

Yes to the spoiler. There's also the same option for
the showdown with the bandits that rob you at the start of the game.

Atomboy do you take penalty if you get a stat above 11?
My dude have 11 luck and i just gave meat to the totem in the forest,it said it gave me 1 luck but the stat and gambling became red.

Do you get more recipes from pumping up the tinkering? If not, where do you get the revolver recipe?

nice, thanks for the answer. well with lucky one + the fish + crit chance, which is really damm good in this game, and that spoiler way to get +1 luck close to the start, it seems the value of the stat is much better than i expected. will try to use luck in my next run.

The thing is, most of crafted items are pretty garbage. Also in underrail a lot of good crafting ingredients were hard to find, and invest a lot into those skills, but here that OP revolver can be crafted like an hour after starting the game, using random junk that lies everywhere, and it requires barely any skill to craft. It's not like Underrail at all, it's just bad balancing.

Internet. There are multiple sites listing all recipes by now. I have no idea where it actually is in game

Why are you playing the game, fucktard? Watch it on Jewtube and Stfu?

Most crafted items are the only garbage items available to the player, according to pumped skill and if they arent pistols. Also, ammotype...
Up to level 5 there is not a single rifle to find. Forget armor.
Otradno - rusty pistol after snitch, singleshot rifle from granddad
B317 - rusty pistols (imo all behind skillchecks), if you kill the stooges you get a rusty rifle, shotty, autopistol
Factory - armor, helmet behind cha, speech checks
Krasno - rusty rifle behind speechcheck, bookstore gives recipes for improved crafted shotties, rifles

Also, absolute roffles at Underrail's ingredients being hard to find. The very first item you find can find and decompose can be reassembled into something better than anything being sold with an extra gearslot filled. Super hard! No internet guides for fags required!

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
To me it seems that pistols are basically designed for the high personality characters who dump str, since melee or rifles aren't an option for them.

Lmao, so looking up the recipes on the internet is a crime in your autistic mind, but at the same time, you listed locations of the recipes, so you think that looking up that information is fine?

Either learning meta knowledge from the internet is for fags, or not, make up your mind retard. Or just stop acting so edgy, you're overdoing it to the point where it's not funny anymore, just pitiful.
