Anyone tried VR outside?

So I'm planning to do a big dive into VR when the time is right, when I manage to acquire a large enough private land that I can build a fence around for VR gaming, basically a VR studio so to speak.

Anyway, I was wondering how many of you if any have tried VR outside and how it went? For the VR stadium I'll be building, it'll have a transparent roof with a stype of shelf to put a PC on there above me, so I can just use the highest end headset on the highest end PC without issue.
Well, there is the maybe issue of wireless, but I'm hoping there's gonna be, or already is? An option for that.

the sun/moisture will fry your headset, the lenses are not built for that

I would absolutely do it under the shade of some sort of roof, even if outside. I have a feeling the high amount of natural light would make the sensors less reactive.

Other than that it should be fine.

There are about a half dozen VR games I consider must-plays, but i've named them to death in the VR section

I do lengthy sessions of Beat Saber outside on my deck couple times a week on my Quest 3 for exercise but I'm extremely careful to put it on indoors and take it off indoors. No lens exposure to sunlight.

Why don't you buy a large tent instead? Your lenses aren't going to get damaged from sunlight then.

Get a Mobile Wi-Fi Router that uses a SIM card.

I meant wireless as in the hdmi optical connection between GPU and monitor, not internet.

If you get a Meta Quest 2 or 3, you can use the Steam Link app to stream Steam VR games to your wireless headset. That's what I do and I rarely get any latency.

The vast majority of other headsets require a cable.

Does that work with stuff like with vorpx or more modding based games? Like doom VR?

The tracking lenses won't get any damage from sunrays but the screen lenses magnify sunlight and you can burn your screens within seconds, so you should cover them all the time even when the sky is cloudy.

I would never go outside for VR playing. I want a closed environment with no shit lying around and no one and nothing coming near me because i am blinded when i am playing VR.

Well, I donno about the other headsets, but when I tried the steam one, it had these sensors that would show you when you came close to walls and borders.
I donno about dog shit, I'm going to be playing it in a large field in my backyard, so no doggies there, or really people either.

Cause it should be better? At least in theory?

I only recently learned about arena scale mode in some VR games/mods (ie Quake VR) where you can actually walk instead of using the controllers to move but I'm much too out of shape for that. But it seems playing outdoors would be required for this, or at least a large indoor open area like a gym or something.
