Any good metroidvania recommendations?

From the unexpected news department, the crude but charming Environmental Station Alpha has received a C++ port (I think it was originally created with Multimedia Fusion 2) and thus: "The game now runs smoother, has support for both Steam Deck, Mac & Linux, Steam Achievements, and more!"

Excellent game, even if the endgame activities are a bit too obscure for my tastes.

Dominus Collection has Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam. One of the few times it's deserved, they are still some of the most pure fun I've had with video games since they came out (adjust for personal bias, CV is my favorite series). And with a Haunted Castle remake that looks like a solid classivania, it's impossible not to give it the highest of recommendations for metroidvania. I still have my DS and the three games, but when there is a sale I will get this package just for Haunted Castle.

Underrated one, I don't think I've gotten more satisfaction from a metroidvania than when you finally dominate the hookshot in this game.

Finished Voidwrought at 13 hours, though I'm a slow player and I wouldn't be surprised if most people finish this closer to 10 or so. From the achievements I can see that I'm missing some bosses and at least one region. I really enjoyed the game, very good controls, love the art direction and the overall gameplay (it feels very much like Hollow Knight but in a Lovecraftian setting). The game's strongest aspect is exploration, its weakest are the boss fights. First boss, 2 or 3 attempts, then the 2nd one is the biggest difficulty spike in the entire game, tried it at least a dozen of times. One thing very particular about this game is you can easily explore other regions bypassing most bosses, so its if a boss is too hard, just look for a couple of upgrades. This design approach though is a double-edged sword somewhat as the game spreads a lot of upgrades all over its map and after the 2nd boss I beat all of the rest in one try. The final boss is almost comically weak by the time you step into his chamber. So if you look for a decent challenge, look elsewhere or wait and hope they patch this, because the laughable bosses make it a bit disappointing in that regard.
