The remarks of EA's Harvey Elliot made me think of the golden oldies of the good days of (Amiga) gaming, and what made them special.

Oh, I'd forgotten so much.

Check out the character creation and the intro.

This is what children's games used to be back in the day.

Fuck EA, those games haven't aged at all. In fact, I think I have to figure out a away to plug WinUAE into XBMC...

P.S. Oh, and the music... oh the music.

Dark Seed was a crappy port of a mediocre PC adventure, not sure why it's on that list.

*sigh* the old days, I am glad that there are emulators, I really regret that I've sold my Amiga's. :( By the way, great topic.

I'll post a couple to, some of which were ported to other platforms.

Amiga is best, if you don't like Amiga you're not cruisin', you're crawling. You want to be pro? Amiga is pro. You don't know this? You ain't pro, man. You're dust.

A bit older here:

Mail Order Monsters

The days when EA was a fledgling publisher and had really cool box art. Mail Order Monsters actually had some RPG aspects in that you could customize your monster's stats, give him genetic modifications like gills or a stinger, and outfit him with various weapons.

Cannon Fodder was awesome. Probably one of the only games that took war seriously - your guys just die and stay that way, sometimes the enemy soldiers get just wounded and scream in there, laying in a pool of their own blood, and that awesome theme song really says it all. It's nothing like these Brothers of Glorious Heroes shit fps games.

Oh come on, for video game music he's not bad. It's another matter if that's any sort of achievement or not, but come on! You have high standards, man.

Sensible Software made a Cannon Fodder like Sensible Soccer demo, were soldiers are playing with a grenade instead of an ball, that was great fun.

Talking about violence and sports.

Extase has awesome music. A pleasure to listen to that.

I've been trying to find an Amiga game I played at my friends house as a child, it was a fairly standard platformer as far as I can tell, the only standout feature being that your stardard weapon was a ball and chain that would shoot across the screen and retract. You could buy better weapons etc at shops.

Thats all I can remember :(

i must have wasted alot of my early teens in front of Civilization, Defender of the Crown, Lure of the Temptress, Indiana Jones and Last Ninja 3 on my Amiga 500 and 1200.

I don't think so, this game had a dark fantasy look to it, should have mentioned that. The character is a muscular guy with a metal helmet covering his head/face.

EDIT: Game is played from side view.
